Jacques-Désiré Laval (18 September 1803 – 9 September 1864) is known as the "Apostle of Mauritius" due to his tireless work in aiding the poor and ill in Mauritius. This shrine dedicated to Pere Laval - "The Apostle of Mauritius" was built in 1995 following the gift of land received by the Mauritian community from The Pauline Brothers.
