Glass House Mountains Community Hall

Glass House Mountains Community Hall A venue for hire for groups from the Glass House district to meet, learn, exercise and share ideas.

Founded in 1916 as a School of Arts and library, the Glass House Mountains Community Hall has always been a place for residents of the district to meet and learn. Owned by the Glass House Mountains community the Hall and grounds are independent from local and state governments. We rely on rentals and events to raise funds to maintain and extend the hall facilities. Since 1916 the Hall has always g

rown and evolved to meet the needs of the community by being used as a shop, reading room, first aid station, dance, theatre, concert and church hall, as well as a venue for learning. To this day our Mission is to provide a venue for groups to meet, learn, exercise and share while maintaining our founding intent, preserving our history and looking to the future.

Have you ever wondered what we get up to at our Sunday Sew-cial Circle?

Here is a great example of some of the creativity happening among our members. A regular at our monthly sessions, Jo started and completed her first hexagon quilt at the Sunday Sew-cial Circle. Isn’t it just amazing?

The Sunday Sew-cial Circle is a place to come together and sew with friends no matter your skill level.

We always welcome new members. Our next session is taking place on the forth Sunday of June, (Sunday 28th) from 11am to 2pm. We can’t wait to see you there!

Giving beautiful fabrics a second life ✂️🧵

Slow fashion starts with thoughtful making, handmade pieces created from rescued textiles, deadstock fabrics, and carefully destashed treasures. Every stitch is a step away from fast fashion and toward clothing with story, purpose, and longevity.

At our Sewing Destash you’ll be able to purchase unique pre-loved handmade slow fashion pieces by the very talented 🩷
