Lovely big hall and 3 different sized meeting rooms for hire at cost effective rates

We have a variety of different meeting spaces for your function/event/group activity at very reasonable rates". As well as the main hall there are 3 different meeting rooms with varying seating capacities. The hall has its own kitchen, there is also an enclosed lawn area at the back of the main hall off an undercover awning that could be used for photo shoots or picnicking, so whatever your needs there are lots of opportunities for usage of the centre's facilities. ‘TO SERGIO WITH LOVE’

Sunday September the 6th.

The perfect soundtrack for cocktail hour jet-setters!
To Sergio With Love brings you the coolest tunes celebrating the singular artistry of Sergio Mendes and Brazil '66.
From the Beatles and Burt Bacharach to JJ Cale and Jorge Ben's signature anthem Mas Qui Nada, cocktail parties around the world had his music on high rotation as Mendes, released hit after hit, including Watch What Happens, The Look of Love, Chove Chuva, Pretty World, Fool On The Hill and One Note Samba.
To Sergio With Love features one of Australia's most accomplished singers of Brazilian song, Anje West (The View From Madeleine's Couch), this time singing Sergio's hits in English as well as some of his Brazilian repertoire in fluent Portuguese.
Band-leader Kym Ambrose is at the drum-kit, with the superb guitar work of Jamie Clark and piano of Joe Machan taking centre-stage, and well-known Queensland bassist Helen Russell is also on backing vocal duties.
Since reforming in 2018, ‘To Sergio With Love’ has played to sold-out houses at The Brisbane Jazz Club, The Old Museum and The Judith Wright Centre, and wowed a 1200-strong audience at Brisbane City Hall. Warm, nostalgic and irresistibly groovy, this is a feel-good musical journey back to the golden age of bossa nova and vintage cocktail cool.
Expect wonderful songs, superb musicianship, fascinating stories behind the hits, and an afternoon full of nostalgia and feel-good music.

The Jazz & Blues Collective presents: Caxton Street Jazz Band. ‘HOT JAZZ'

For nearly five decades, The Caxton Street Jazz Band has been bringing the spirit of classic hot jazz to life with energy, precision and unmistakable style. Founded in 1977 in Brisbane and named after their original home in Caxton Street’s Baroona Hall, the band has grown to become one of Australia’s most respected and enduring exponents of traditional jazz.

Renowned for their crisp arrangements, tight ensemble playing and vibrant stage presence, this six-piece outfit delivers an irresistible blend of trad/New Orleans revival, mainstream, swing and blues drawn from the golden era of jazz — the 1920s through to the 1950s. While their roots lie firmly in early hot jazz, their repertoire also embraces big band swing, rhythm and blues, folk, country and popular classics, all infused with the band’s fresh, contemporary edge.
The Caxton Street Jazz Band rose to prominence during the 1980s with their long-running appearances at the famed “Jazz ‘N Jug” sessions at Brisbane’s Caxton Hotel, alongside regular performances at Australian Jazz Conventions and festivals nationwide. Today, they continue to delight audiences at jazz festivals, clubs, weddings, corporate events and community celebrations throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Featuring some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians — including trumpet, trombone, clarinet, saxophone, double bass, drums and washboard, plus guest pianist 'Jo Bloomfield' complemented by engaging vocal performances — the band combines musical excellence with warmth, humour and a genuine love for the music they play.

Ed Catchpole and I had a mini working Bee this morning and did some much needed tree planting, about 30 plants on the off side of the hall (facing onto the plaza). Hopefully these little natives will flourish to give this side of the hall a better outlook from within and some much needed shade in the summer month, maybe even attract in a few native birds to the callistemon's and banksia's. The Jazz & Blues Collective proudly presents Australian blues legend Andy Cowan for a soulful Sunday afternoon of blues, jazz and R&B in Maroochydore.
A fixture on the Australian music scene for more than half a century, Andy Cowan is one of the country’s most revered live performers. With an earthy, emotionally charged voice and deeply expressive piano style, Andy masterfully blends blues, soul and R&B within an acoustic jazz framework. His performances are raw, intimate, powerful — and utterly captivating.
Awarded Blues Album of the Year for One of These Days and an ARIA nominee for 10.30 Thursdays, Andy has represented Australia at the International Blues Convention in Memphis and recorded nine studio albums along with the acclaimed live DVD A Tale of Two Cities. His career includes touring and recording with Australian greats including Madder Lake, Ayers Rock, Kevin Borich, Ian Moss and Renée Geyer.

Now based in the Noosa Hinterland, Andy returns with his stellar
