We had a great start back to 2026 with our Toastmaster of the Evening - Michael Broberg DTM! We had speeches from Helen, Victoria and Merryn. Lots of laughs, energy, fabulous evaluations and a new member to boot! Our next meeting will be on Thursday Feb 19th at Highways Hotel Springvale. Come along as a guest to see what happens at an Advanced Club.

Our Evaluation Contest was held on the same night with 7 contestants: Jing Ye, George Randall, Annie Martin, Marlene Sinclair, Helen Cai, Victoria Carruthers and Judith Talanoa.

TOCC's International and Evaluation Contests were held Thursday 2nd October and what a line-up. 8 contestants in International.

The International Contest saw our members speak on such a range of issues from:
~ world record holding runners to entering your first park run;
~ accelerating at school to what our names mean to us;
~ friends and growth to tragedy at home;
~ conquering an overnight hike to the importance of hugging.

Congratulations to all contestants: Marlene Sinclair, George Randall, Annie Martin, Judith Talanoa, Jing Ye, Merryn Adams, Helen Cai and Victoria Carruthers.

TOCC held it's Humorous and Table Topics Competitions on Thursday 18th September 2025. Our Sergeant at Arms, Mr Funny Man Himself - Brett Kenny, kicked off the night's events.

Our illustrious President, Jackson Green presided over events, while David Martin as Contest Chair, showed us all how to do this role with such flair.

There were seven contestants in each contest to entertain us on the night: Wayne Eldridge, Marlene Sinclair, George Randall, Annie Martin, Helen Cai, Rick Stuart and Jing Ye.

For both contests the place-getters were:
1. Annie Martin. 2. Marlene Sinclair. 3. Rick Stuart.

This Thursday TOCC will hold its International and Evaluation Contests. A night not to be missed.

A great meeting last night led by Rajeev with his theme "Inspiration". Speeches from Merryn and Victoria and a 5-7 minute impromptu from Brett Kenny. Lots of fun with some Table Topics Twosomes Too! Watch the reels for a bit of a laugh.

Toast of the Country Club has a number of District Champions.

They also happen to be generous enough to share their knowledge with the District.

So.... on Thursday 19th June 2025, in conjunction with the D73 Education and Training Team, Michael Broberg DTM, Marlene Sinclair DTM and Jackson Green expertly delivered

"How to Become a District Table Topic Champion"

We learned about DR ABC, what to do when you are flummoxed by a tricky question, and seven different ways to tackle Table Topics. There was opportunity for demonstration and audience participation and plenty of fun and learning for all.
