This morning, Jen caught up with Hue from the Creative Hearts Co team at their studio space in Brookwater, and we had such a great time exploring how we can work together to create more opportunities for young people across Greater Springfield, particularly within the arts and creative industries.

If you haven’t discovered Creative Hearts Co yet, we couldn’t speak more highly of the community spirit, collaboration and passion they bring to creating platforms for local artists and creatives to connect, share their work and thrive.

There is so much potential for our local creative community when we come together, share ideas and open doors for the next generation. We’re so excited about the possibilities and what we might be able to create together!

Watch this space… there’s lots of exciting potential ahead! 👀✨

With the support of our YMCA Queensland Head Office and the Y Queensland IT Team, we are pleased to donate a total of 27 end-of-life corporate iPhones to DV Safe Phone.

DV Safe Phone is a Queensland-based, Australian charity that collects unused mobile phones and turns them into secure, untraceable lifelines for people escaping domestic and family violence. Once inspected and approved for circulation, these donated phones will be circulated to agency partners, nation-wide, and passed on to victims of domestic and family violence; empowering survivors to maintain safe connections with emergency services, healthcare providers, and support networks as they rebuild their lives.

YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre is proud to be an official public collection point for the DV Safe Program. For community members seeking to donate old devices, items can be dropped off to the community centre, or at other registered collection points across the region. Shout-out to YMCA Queensland Regional ICT Support Officer, Shane, for his support and advocacy in support of this community project.
