๐โโ๏ธThis week is Men's Health Week.
The week aims to raise awareness of preventable health problems, support healthier lifestyle choices, and encourage early detection and treatment of health issues in men and boys.
It's time for men to take a check up and each of us can play a role on encouraging men to do this by sharing this post, talking about how important it is to each of us that men visit the doctor for a check up. One check up could make a difference.
Health Checks to Prioritize this week as a prompt to get on top of these essential, life-saving screenings:
Blood Pressure & Cholesterol: Should be checked every 1-2 years to prevent cardiovascular disease.
Diabetes check: It's important to get blood test to keep on top of your blood levels
Prostate Cancer: Discuss the Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test with your GP, especially if you have a family history.
Bowel Cancer: If you are between 50 and 74, complete the free National Bowel Cancer Screening Program home test or if you have a family history speak to your doctor to see when you should start testing.
Mental Health: Don't hesitate to reach out for support or check in on a mate. You can connect with support lines like Beyond Blue if you are feeling overwhelmed or speak to a doctor.
Father's, Husband's, Brothers and Son's are the love of our lives and your health matters. ๐ฉท๐
