Wandiyali

Wandiyali Wandiyali is a Newcastle community organisation assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of the Newcastle, Hunter and Lake Macquarie region.

Wandiyali was established in 1997 to work with Koori youth. In 2000 The Hunter Koori Youth Service (HKYS) began operation working with 14yrs to 25 year olds (target age 14 -18years) that were homeless or at risk of homelessness. Since then the range of programs that we offer has grown to include Brighter Futures, OOHC - Children's Services, OOHC mentoring services, Indigenous Community Links, housing, disability support and a child care centre.

A Service NSW Savings Specialist will be visiting Wandiyali to help community members access eligible savings, rebates and concessions, including energy rebates, toll relief, Active and Creative Kids vouchers, transport concessions, Seniors Cards and more.

Yaaro now offers two flexible pathways of support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all ages across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens.

🤝 Case Management – Goal-focused support for up to 12 weeks where ongoing referrals and advocacy are needed.

💬 Consult Support – A one-off appointment providing information, advice and referrals.

📲 Referring is now easier than ever! Simply scan the QR code on our flyer to complete our new online referral form.

We welcome self-referrals, family, community and service provider referrals.
