As Breast Cancer Awareness Month draws to a close, let’s keep the conversation going.
A simple chat with a friend or loved one can be the nudge they need to book a screening.
At this year’s Rotary Pioneer Adventure Day, BreastScreen SA’s mobile clinic screened 47 women on site. 44 received the all-clear, and three are now having follow-up tests. It’s a powerful reminder of why accessible screening and early detection matter.
Beyond Australia, Butterfly Buddies, supported by the Rotary Club of North Lake Macquarie, helps women in Fiji and across the South Pacific after a mastectomy. The project provides repurposed breast forms and mastectomy bras, and trains local nurses and community workers to fit them so women can regain comfort and confidence.
