Opshop Heaven Opened in 2004 operated by the Hunter Revival Fellowship with the aim of making a positive contribution to the local community & to preach the gospel

I was blessed to be brought up in a family who knew God. As a child I prayed and received an amazing gift from God. From that day on I knew I had my own prayer language and understood the power of prayer. As I grew older I knew I wanted to meet someone with my same God given values.

At 28 years old, I decided to prayer and fast (and if you know me, food is an important part of the day!) but for 3 days I focussed on asking the Lord to fulfill the desires of my heart.

It was not long after that I met Tony and that was the beginning of a beautiful marriage. Tony and his two children and now our three, make a life full of life......

What Makes The Revival Fellowship Different? The Bible teaches that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. We believe His promises are still for today.

The Revival Fellowship teaches the Bible's message of salvation through:
• Repentance
• Baptism by full immersion
• Receiving the Holy Spirit

We believe the same experiences recorded in the Book of Acts—including receiving the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in tongues—are still available today.

This isn't simply something we believe historically. It's something thousands of people have experienced personally. You can too - come this Sunday and see for yourself!

Johanna ~ WOLLONGBAR, NSW | I was raised in a non religious family who never spoke about God. I first heard about God at school and I simply believed that God was good. Schools at that time had one hour a week of religious education which was very enjoyable, and I learned a lot about the Bible, God and Jesus.

When I was around 14 years old I wanted to get confirmed in the Lutheran church, and the confirmation classes were very important for me. The confirmation ceremony involved affirming our belief in God and I had a wonderful “touch from God” during this ceremony! My parents then allowed me to attend church services and Youth Fellowship on Sundays. Later on when I was 16 I became a Sunday School teacher and taught Sunday School for four years.

During this time in my life certain questions arose in my mind. I wondered why I saw no evidence of miracles in our modern times, and also why there were so many different versions of Christianity when we all believed in the same God and Bible. During Bible studies I had seen verses that mentioned “Speaking in Tongues”. I wondered what this was, but nobody really knew the answer!

Life went on and I spent 3 years living, working and travelling in Europe/Germany, which is my country of birth.

Back home in Australia I met and married my first husband and we had two little girls, 3½ & 2 years of age.

My life was very happy during this time, even though my husband (a lapsed Roman Catholic) wasn’t interested in going to church and so I didn’t go either. However I did still pray and hadn’t lost my faith.

Around this time my mother started going to church regularly which shocked me & my siblings. One day I visited Mum and she told me about her amazing new church, where folks spoke in tongues by the power of the Holy Spirit! Many were healed of incurable illnesses such as cancers, emphysema, M.S. etc.

It was a massive WOW! moment as I listened to her tell me all these things which I’d wondered about for years! It was a lot to think about, and some time later I went to a meeting with her and saw a full auditorium, people of all ages, all with Bibles, lovely singing. I heard people talk about their personal lives with God, I heard an interesting sermon but the biggest impact on me was when I heard speaking in tongues for the first time.

That sound went right through my heart like an arrow and I knew instantly that I was standing in the presence of God in that church. The following Sunday I was baptised by full immersion as Jesus commanded. Nine months later I received the gift of the Holy Spirit and I knew I had received it as I spoke “in tongues”, a language I had never learned.

My personal relationship with God has been over 40 years now and He has never let me down.

Even though life can be unpredictable & difficult I know how privileged I am to be a child of God.

My first marriage failed after my third child (a son) was born and those years were very hard for me as a single Mum. I learned to lean heavily on my Heavenly Father to provide for us, to protect us and to comfort us.

Then I asked my Heavenly Father for another husband and so I met John. We married on the 16th Nov 1996 and have walked together with the Lord, knowing that our salvation is assured if we don’t let life derail our relationship with Jesus.

Praise His Name!

This image is really about misdirected effort.

We often assume that if we are working hard, we must be making progress. But effort and progress are not the same thing. You can spend years polishing the wrong strategy, solving the wrong problem, or climbing the wrong ladder, and still feel exhausted enough to believe you are moving forward.

Look at the image carefully. The person on the left is working hard. He is cleaning the glass with everything he has. But the beautiful view is on the other side. The person inside is cleaning the same window, but from the side where the problem actually exists.

That is a powerful metaphor for life.

Sometimes the question is not How hard am I working?

The better question is ……. Am I working on the right thing?

You can study harder for years, but if you are studying the wrong material, effort will not produce the result you want. You can work longer hours in a business that has no viable market. You can repeatedly apply for the same kind of job when your real problem is a missing skill. You can spend years trying to convince someone to value you when the wiser decision is to find people who already do.

And this is where life becomes uncomfortable.

Because changing direction can feel like admitting that all your previous effort was wasted.

It wasn’t. The person who has been cleaning the wrong side of the window has still learned something. He has developed patience. He has built endurance. He has discovered what doesn’t work. But at some point, wisdom means putting down the cloth and asking:

What if the problem isn’t my effort? What if it’s my position?

There is a difference between persistence and stubbornness.

Persistence says, This matters, so I will keep going.

Stubbornness says, I have already invested so much here that I refuse to consider another way.

One creates progress. The other can turn years into a loop.

This applies to almost everything.

Sometimes you don’t need another 100 hours.

You need a better question.

Sometimes you don’t need more motivation.

You need a better environment.

Sometimes you don’t need to push harder.

You need to change direction.

And sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop, step back, look at the entire window, and realize ….. I have been working very hard. But I have been working on the wrong side.

That realization isn’t failure.

It may be the beginning of wisdom.

Miracles Everyday | When we do as God asks - repent, be baptised & receive the Holy Spirit - the Lord holds up His promises - that we would experience signs, wonders and miracles following ~ Mark 16:17-20.

These are true stories of how God has healed, provided for, given hope to, given peace to and restored joy to the lives of everyday people of the Northern Rivers.

People just like you, who each came to the Lord with their own challenges; some who were seeking the truth, some who were disillusioned with the hypocrisy of religion, others who were overwhelmed, unwell, struggling with depression, struggling to make ends meet, in broken relationships or broken-hearted.

And for each and every one, there is a story of hope, provided by the Lord, as He said He would in the Bible, when we demonstrate our faith in His ways - when we repent, be bapstised and receive the Holy Spirit.

It was extra great to hear from Heidii on Sunday!

“I was diagnosed with leukaemia in June. I was pretty shocked. I looked back on all the other times God had intervened in my life and healed me and knew I wanted this again. The support of the saints for me and my family has been amazing. I realised the goodness of God and felt his peace about my past, present and future – whatever it holds. On Friday just gone I received a completely clear result showing no leukaemia cells. I am so grateful because God is so good to me and so active in my life.”
