Portland parkrun

Portland parkrun Portland parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community at 8am every Saturday morning in Portland, Victoria.

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Portland parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful Fawthrop Lagoon area and get physically active in the

process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there! Safety briefing is at 7:50am, Run Commence.s 8am sharp

What an incredible morning celebrating the 10th anniversary of Portland parkrun! 🎉

Today, 78 participants crossed the finish line, supported by 12 amazing volunteers. Congratulations to the 11 participants who achieved Personal Bests today:
Alison Bannister, Barbara Starick, Charlee Hewlett, Damien King, Hudson Leighton, Jaybe Bailey, Joseph Wanjiku, Kate Jaensch, Layla Sprague, Peter Bunge, and Sarah Davey. 👏

We also celebrated some fantastic milestone achievements:
🏅 Robert Logan — 250 parkruns
🏅 Leonie Campbell — 100 parkruns
🏅 Barbara Starick — 25 parkruns
🏅 Jaybe Bailey — 10 parkruns

The average age of participants today was 43 years young.

We were delighted to welcome visitors from Mt Gambier and Geelong, along with 4 people completing their very first parkrun — we hope to see you again soon! It was also wonderful to reconnect with some familiar faces we haven’t seen in a while.

The celebrations continued with delicious cake and plenty of laughs thanks to our “T for Ten” themed costumes. We saw tradies, Teletubbies, towels, a T-Rex, the Twister game, the Tooth Fairy, tigers, tutus, ties, “tired” runners, teddy bears, and many more creative outfits. Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make the morning so memorable and fun.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers today:
Christopher KING • Beryl KING • Kay ANTONY • Jan LINEKER • Maureen PITMAN • David HALICZER • Vicki BROWN • Norman BURVILLE • Kristy HUTCHINS • Tressilla MACLEOD • Noah BOURKE • Kellen JENNER
