THANK YOU to Sook, Tania & all the wonderful staff at GMHBA dental for your care & treatment for one of the seafarers.

It was greatly appreciated how you found a solution to provide relief when he really required specialist dental surgery.

It is very hard for seafarers to receive treatment when there port stays are only 2 days.

You were also unaware that this crew member has just lost his house to the 7.6 earthquake that hit Mango Wie in the Philippines.

The crew members family are safe & have relocated to other family.

As a result he will be signing off in 2 weeks time and going home to be with his family.

God only knows how hard it is for these seafarers when you’re on the other side of the world when a tragedy hits.

Thank you to the Lutheran ladies for inviting me to give a talk about Mission to Seafarers.
Thank you also for the gift & donation towards seafarers welfare.
We are very lucky in Portland to have such wonderful support from the various church denominations.
Portland continues to support seafarers regardless of race, nationality or religious beliefs.

Just 3 hours a week. Join the team & have some fun interacting with seafarers of all nationalities. Yes they mainly speak English.

Driving our bus does not require a special license, only requires a regular car license.

Serve customers in our little shop, training provided. Integrated POS system user friendly.
Learn a new skill.

Volunteering Opportunities
Every day, seafarers arrive in Australian ports after weeks or months at sea, often far from family, friends and support networks.
Our volunteers are the friendly faces who provide a warm welcome, transport, practical assistance, and a listening ear.
Could you spare a few hours a week/month to make a real difference in the life of a visiting seafarer?
We are currently seeking volunteers across Australia.

Let's have a look at what's happening on Port this week 🌊

From loading exports to discharging essential imports, there’s plenty happening across the Port. Southern Treasure will load 55,000 tonnes of hard wood chips, while Broadgate discharges 8,200 tonnes of fertiliser.

With 11 arrivals, 7 departures, and 9 commodities in motion, it’s set to be another busy week. 🚢
