The Australian Government is providing funding to support the consultation and development of the design of a new National Military Training Memorial, honouring the Australians who have lost their lives while training to defend our nation, and the families and communities that carry their loss.

Every loss is felt deeply by family, friends and communities. Their sacrifice and their memory endures.

This week, our outstanding Operations Team was presented with an Army Team Award in recognition of their exceptional contribution to the Battalion.

Over the past several years, they have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our training remains mission-focused, maintained the Battalion’s readiness to deploy at short notice in support of domestic operations, and driven the operational tempo that underpins our success.

While much of their work goes unseen, their impact is felt across every aspect of the unit. This award is a fitting recognition of their professionalism, commitment and dedication.

🪙 We Will Remember Them 🪙

The Royal Australian Mint has unveiled a special 2026 $2 coin honouring one of Australia's most poignant remembrance traditions – the Last Post.

Featuring a bugler at sunset, the commemorative design pays tribute to the service and sacrifice of all who have served our nation.

Want to secure your own piece of remembrance history?

There will be a ballot to purchase the coins, opening on 6 November and closing on 9 November. From 10 November, coins will also be available through the Mint Shop in Canberra, and participating authorised distributors.

A circulating version is also coming soon, so keep an eye on your change!
