The 3rd Kalamunda District Rover Crew was established in 1963 and is one of the oldest continuously running Rover Crews in WA. We have our own constitution and elect various positions at an Annual General Meeting held in January/February of each year. These positions have a 12-month term. We meet monthly at the former Carmel Primary School, Carmel Road, Carmel. These meetings are held on the Sunda

y at 7.00pm following WARC meetings. At these meetings we discuss topics such as future activities, fundraising, service projects and other items raised by crew members. These meetings are formal and full uniform is worn,

The aims of the crew are to encourage and promote the physical, intellectual, spiritual, social and emotional development of Rovers within the community as well as at a state, national and international level of Scouting. We regularly participate in many state Rover events (Sandmoot, ANZAC Vigil, Gravel Moot, Baja etc.), other section events (Mission Impossible, Cubilee) and District and community events (Kalamunda show). Many members also have other scouting commitments such as serving as leaders or helpers in other sections of scouting (joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers). Past crew members have also served as members of the WARC and NRC committee. Currently there are 15 Rovers in the Crew with two Rover Advisors and many fellowship members. We all have a variety of interests; we are very active and are up for pretty much anything so you will always be able to find something in our program that will interest you.

SANDMOOT: TOGAMOOT 2026

We’ve been a little quiet lately—but don’t worry, Kala Rovers are still going strong!

Recently, we headed down south to Eaton for Sandmoot 2026, and what a weekend it was. From beach activities to fivesies and iron guts, there was no shortage of fun. We also took on an Amazing Race around the Bunbury area, finishing it all off with an epic toga party on the final night.

Thanks to everyone who made it such a great event—we can’t wait to see you all at the next one!

Recently our unit engaged in Sandmoot 2025, so fresh 2000's. A 3 night state wide rover camp, in which we did a variety of activities from canoeing, to charcuterie board making, to a little roadtrip from the campsite to Denmark and much much more. Importantly our team won the charcuterie board competition and had an amazing time while at it.

Last Tuesday Rockingham and Kalamunda rover units joined up for bouldering at cockburn after being partnered up for unit unity. Which is when two WA rover units get paired up to create inter-unit connections. We had some great fun, met new people and played some climbing games!
