What if one conversation could change someone’s day?

A warm welcome.
A familiar face.
A place where someone feels they belong.

These small moments of connection matter — especially in a world where more people are experiencing loneliness and social isolation.

At Holy Grounds, we are building a community where people can come as they are, connect with others, and find a sense of belonging.

We’re inviting our community to help us grow this work.

Your donation supports spaces and programs that bring people together and remind us that we are not meant to do life alone.

💛 Help us fund connection.

A huge thank you to Kris, our dungeon master, for guiding today’s adventure with imagination, humour, and just the right amount of chaos.

And to everyone who joined the table - thanks for bringing the energy, creativity, and willingness to dive into the story. It’s so fun watching a group build a world together as the game unfolds.

We’re already looking forward to next month’s session. 1st Friday of the month 11am - 1pm

New to this or curious about what happens at the table? Everyone is welcome. Come along, get involved, and see what it’s all about.

Join us for our monthly ART SHIFT Free Sessions!

Held on the third Friday of each month, these creative workshops offer a relaxed space to explore wellbeing through making and reflection.

In June, we’ll be exploring Neurographic Art - a simple, accessible creative practice.

Neurographic art is a calming drawing method that supports stress relief, mindfulness, and emotional processing through flowing lines and gentle creative focus. You’ll learn how to use this technique as a practical tool for everyday wellbeing.

🌸 Calling all crocheters and knitters 🌸

Holy Grounds ‘Makers’ are partnering with No Place for Poverty to help create a community art installation bringing awareness to poverty in WA.

We’re collecting bright and cheerful crocheted or knitted flowers to be combined into a public artwork called Together We Bloom.

Your handmade flowers will become part of a larger story about connection, creativity, and community care. 💛

For National Volunteer Week, we want to recognise the people who shape what happens at Holy Grounds every day.

The cafe functions like a shared living room for the community - a piece of social infrastructure that supports everyday connection, familiarity and belonging. It only works because people show up to make it so.

Our volunteers are central to that. They’re trained in barista skills, yes, but just as importantly they bring presence and care into each interaction. They sit in conversation with customers, notice who might need a bit of extra welcome, and help set the tone of the space so people feel included rather than just served.

It’s worth naming that “community” doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built in small, repeated moments - a hello, a remembered order, a chat that lingers longer than expected.

To our volunteers: thank you for being the steady, generous presence that turns everyday moments into a living network of connection, belonging and care across our community.
