On Good Friday, little hands created crosses, but we remembered a love so big it changed everything.
Jesus gave His life for us so we could be forgiven, free, and forever His ✝️

Little hands, big story 🌿
Last Sunday the kids celebrated the King who came riding on a donkey, welcomed with palm branches and praise.
And as they made their crosses and painted palm branches, we remembered this King who came to save ✝️
Hosanna in the highest!

Kids church is more than just crayons, crackers and entertaining. We feed the children with the Bread of Life, we teach them the gospel story of God’s redemption from the fall of Adam and Eve all the way through to the return of Christ. We add fun to faith, we don’t replace faith with fun.

Kids church runs every Sunday during the school term in the 4pm service .church

At Melville Church, we love kids and we love families worshipping together 💛

We have a safe, caring crèche available during both morning and afternoon services.
During school terms there is a fun, engaging children’s program during our afternoon service so kids can learn about Jesus in a way that makes sense to them.

Before our school holiday break, the kids church kids heard about how God sent Jesus to be the better Samson.
God used Samson to save Israel from their enemies but he fell into the sin of pride. He thought he was strong all by himself.
One day though, God sent a deliver named Jesus to bring lasting salvation to all who believes in Him

Recently the kids church lesson was about Rahab and the special plan God had for her. She became King David’s far off grandmother and so she was also in the lineage of Jesus. The scarlet cord in Rahab’s window protected her and her family from judgement just like the blood of Jesus covers our sins so that we too can be saved from the judgment of God.

At kids church last week we talked about how a lot of Old Testament stories point to Jesus.

This week’s story we saw how sinners were healed of their snake bites when they looked to the bronze snake. The snake on the pole pointed forward to Jesus who would one day be lifted up.

Because of the bronze snake, God healed the people and didn’t count their sins against them.

On Sunday at Kids Church the children heard how Moses sent twelve spies to explore Canaan. They found the land rich and fruitful but reported that its people are powerful and cities strong. Ten spies spread fear, while only Caleb and Joshua urge the Israelites to trust God and take the land.
From this they learned that God is faithful to His promises but that He also holds his people accountable for their lack of faith and disobedience.

Such a special weekend as we welcomed our new pastor! Our kids added their own touch of colour and joy by decorating bunting flags, now hanging proudly in church. A beautiful picture of God’s family growing together. 🌿✨
