Sock it to Sarcoma Health Promotion Charity providing patient support, raising awareness about and supporting research into sarcoma, primary bone and soft tissue tumours

Sock it to Sarcoma! is the concept and vision of Abbie Basson, who was diagnosed with Ewings's Sarcoma in 2009 at the age of 17. supports medical research, community awareness about sarcoma, patient support and gold standard clinical care. Sarcoma is an aggressive and rare group of primary bone and soft tissue tumours which attack all age groups, but some variations in particular affect children, adolescents and young adults.

We're proud to celebrate Shahama Taifour, a 2021 Sock it to Sarcoma! PhD Scholarship recipient and lead author of exciting new research from the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

The research uses innovative CRISPR technology to switch off a gene driving Ewing sarcoma, successfully slowing tumour growth in preclinical studies.
