Hannah's House

Hannah's House Hannah's House provides care, comfort and joy for children with life-limiting or complex conditions.

Hannah’s House is a registered not for profit organisation dedicated to providing services that improve the quality of life for all Western Australian children with life-limiting or complex conditions and their families. There is a widely acknowledged gap in the provision of children’s respite services in WA. Although a child might receive a life-limiting diagnosis, their journey could span weeks,

months or even years. This often results in a great stress on families for a sustained period of time and impacts their resources, relationships and wellbeing. Hannah’s House plays an important role in helping maintain the quality of life for seriously ill children within their own home and fostering healthy family relationships for parents and siblings.

🌟🌟This week is Men's Health Week and a time to shine the spotlight on the incredible dads of the families we support.🌟🌟

Having a child with complex health needs can be all-consuming, and has an impact on the whole family.

Sometimes it means taking leave from work at the drop of a hat yet again when an urgent hospital stay happens, not sleeping after your child has major surgery, or simply finding the strength to be there for the whole family, even when you're drained yourself.

This week is a great time to remind all of our dads, brothers and male role models to make time for not just their physical health, but also their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

It's also a time to remember the power of being part of a community that understands what you're going through. 🙏

Now’s a good time to get your flu vaccine.

It’s easy to access a free flu vaccine across WA this June, even if you don’t have a Medicare card.

For children aged 2–11, a needle‑free nasal spray is available.

There are plenty of options: visit your GP, Aboriginal Medical Service or pharmacy – or if you’re at Perth Children’s Hospital:
• drop into the Atrium flu clinic
• or visit the Stan Perron Immunisation Centre (Level 1).

Open Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4pm, no appointment required.

Child and Adolescent Community Health clinics are also offering vaccinations.

With your tax-deductible donation, we can help ensure families don't feel alone.💜

Your gift also allows us to continue to provide pro bono care to Hannah's House children, giving parents and carers an essential break💜

💜For families with more than one child with complex needs, like Tayla and Josh's, having free help in the home is crucial.💜

"I don’t know where I’d be without Hannah's House,” shares Tayla.

Her sons, Emris and Elias, were both born at just 24 weeks gestation, with Elias WA's smallest surviving baby to date, weighing just 360g.

Tayla reached out to us when Emris was 3, and we were able to offer in-home respite through our pro bono care program, made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors.

In 2025, we stepped in again to help provide specialised care to tiny Elias.

As we draw closer to the end of the financial year, your support can change lives, like it did for Tayla, Josh, Emris and Elias. 💖

💗We’re getting in early ahead of International Play Day tomorrow to support this year’s theme, ‘Protect Play, Protect Childhood’.

A child’s right to play is exactly that. A right.

At Hannah’s House, our weekly Play program is all about protecting play for some of WA’s most vulnerable children who live with complex medical needs.

We feel so privileged to be able to offer these powerful sessions, thanks to the generosity of the WA community and Telethon7 Perth.

And thank you to all the families from Hannah’s House who understand the power of play and go out of their way amidst incredibly hectic schedules to attend.💗
