Commemoration of G. I. Gurdjieff – 29 October 2025

On Wednesday, 29th October 2025 at 7:30 pm (AEDT), the Gurdjieff Society of Newport invites friends and students of the Work to gather online for the annual commemoration of G. I. Gurdjieff.

This day marks the anniversary of Mr. Gurdjieff’s death in 1949, and is observed around the world by groups who seek to keep alive the living impulse of his teaching.
The online gathering will be a time of quiet attention, gratitude, and renewed connection — a shared recognition that the Work continues to live and act through those who make the effort to be present.

Our commemoration will include:
• Music from the Gurdjieff/de Hartmann repertoire
• Readings from Gurdjieff’s writings and those of his pupils
• Two exercises for inner work
• A toast to the memory of our Teacher (participants prepare a drink for this segment)
• And an exchange for reflection and sharing

This is a time to gather consciously, to remember, and to sense again the presence of what was brought into the world through Gurdjieff’s Work — a moment of stillness in which the thread of this teaching may be felt anew.
