Last night we had the pleasure of hosting Rick Dawson PSM of Australian Black Cockatoo Specialists.

We had a great turnout of 55+ people to listen to Rick talk about Black Cockatoo biology, breeding & conservation based on his extensive research undertaken over last two decades and beyond

Dr Drew also gave the crowd a quick overview of our new easy to maintain Cockatube® Base

The talk was followed by a Q&A and evening snacks.

Our Cockatube® was featured again in the Great Southern Herald thanks to the collaboration between Katanning Landcare & Carnaby Crusaders work down in the Katanning Area.

From nesting hollows to elevated watering stations, black cockatoos across the Katanning area are now under the watchful eye of new monitoring cameras aimed at boosting conservation efforts.

A juvenile California quail has been spotted in Perth’s east 🚨

These birds are a declared pest in WA and can quickly establish populations in the wild, pushing out native wildlife and damaging crops.

On Friday the 22nd of May as part of national volunteer week, we took a group of our volunteers up to the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre to say thank you to our tireless volunteers & share a lovely morning tea with the Karrakin Team
