It’s a pretty special second chapter indeed. 🐴

Many of our RDA horses are retired from previous careers and now shine as calm, trusted partners for children and people with disability. Their gentle natures, patience and willingness to learn make them the perfect teammates in delivering safe, empowering riding experiences every week.

🐴 End of Financial Year Appeal – Help Change a Life Through Horses

As we approach the end of the financial year, we invite you to support the life-changing work of Riding for the Disabled Oakford.

Every week, our riders experience the unique benefits that horses provide. For many, riding improves balance, posture, strength and coordination. For others, it builds confidence, communication skills, independence and social connections. The joy on a rider’s face when they achieve a new goal is something truly special.

None of this would be possible without our incredible horses, dedicated volunteers and the generous support of our community.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely heavily on donations to help cover the ongoing costs of caring for our horses, maintaining equipment and facilities, and ensuring our programs remain accessible to those who benefit from them most.

A donation before 30 June can help us:
🐴 Provide feed, veterinary care and farrier services for our therapy horses
🐴 Maintain safe riding equipment and facilities
🐴 Support riders with disabilities to achieve their personal goals
🐴 Continue offering high-quality equine-assisted programs in our community

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue creating opportunities, building confidence and changing lives.

Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.

If you would like to support Riding for the Disabled Oakford this End of Financial Year, we would be deeply grateful for your contribution.

Thank you for helping our riders reach beyond their challenges and discover what is possible.

With heartfelt thanks,

The Riding for the Disabled Oakford Team

As National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we wanted to take one final moment to say thank you.

Thank you to the people who arrive early to feed horses before anyone else gets there.

To the volunteers who walk beside riders every week β€” encouraging, supporting, believing.

To those who quietly do the jobs no one sees: cleaning tack, making lunches, answering phones, organising equipment, filling water buckets, fundraising, mowing paddocks, and staying back until the last horse is settled.

At Riding for the Disabled Victoria, volunteers are not just part of what we do.
They are the reason we can do it.

Because of you, children and adults with disability experience joy, independence, confidence and connection.
Because of you, someone feels seen.
Because of you, someone belongs.

And while this week shines a light on volunteers, the truth is your impact is felt every single day of the year.

From all of us at RDAV β€” thank you for the care, patience and heart you bring to our community.

We are endlessly grateful.

Happy National Volunteers Week! πŸ’œπŸ΄

Here’s a little video celebrating our incredible team - and of course extending to those we haven’t caught with the camera yet πŸ˜‰

We couldn’t be more grateful for the dedication, support, and enthusiasm of the compassionate people we’re so fortunate to work alongside each week.

Your kindness, hard work, and commitment make such a meaningful difference, and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

Thank you for everything you bring to our community! ✨

Meet the Team (Horse Edition - Part 2) πŸ΄πŸ’œ

A little introduction to the rest of our herd! We love them dearly and always enjoy watching the lovely bonds they form with their riders! πŸ€—

A little reminder that we are still searching for two new horses to join our team, if you or someone you know has a horse that would suit this meaningful work, we’d love to hear from you! πŸ¦„
