Cranes in Action | Rockhampton Ring Road, QLD
The Rockhampton Ring Road is one of Queensland’s largest transport infrastructure projects, delivering a major new western link of the Bruce Highway to improve freight efficiency, flood resilience, road safety and connectivity across Central Queensland.
Playing a critical role in bringing this major project to life are cranes, supporting an extensive bridge construction program across the corridor. A key feature of the project is the new 435-metre Fitzroy River crossing between Pink Lily and Parkhurst, alongside 18 bridges being delivered throughout the alignment.
From lifting bridge girders to placing large precast concrete elements, cranes are essential to keeping construction moving safely, efficiently and on schedule. Operating across large-scale work zones and active transport corridors, crane operations require careful coordination, precision and planning to ensure safe delivery with minimal disruption.
Cranes are helping deliver this landmark project by:
✔️ Supporting critical lifts for the Fitzroy River crossing
✔️ Installing bridge girders and precast components
✔️ Assisting with road overpasses and water crossings
✔️ Enabling safe operations in flood-prone and high-traffic environments
