We had a fantastic time celebrating Easter across all three Waverley sites last week 🐰

Thanks to the amazing team at Fyna Foods Australia, our workmates enjoyed an Easter Raffle with amazing Fyna Food Hampers as the prize. Safe to say… they were a big hit! 🎉

Lots of smiles, excitement and a bit of lucky-draw fun made it a really special day for everyone.

Huge thanks again to Fyna Foods for spreading the Easter cheer! 💛

We loved welcoming members of City of Casey to our Hallam site recently!

They came to see what supported employment and inclusion look like in action, and to learn how we create meaningful jobs in a safe, welcoming, and supportive workplace.

The City of Casey is doing great work to support inclusion across the community, including their upcoming Open Space event. With the motto “no tickets, no barriers”, it’s all about bringing people together with live music and vibrant cultural performances that everyone can enjoy 🎶✨

If you’re in the community, check out Open Space and come along to celebrate inclusion in action.

Thank you to the City of Casey team for visiting, listening, and strengthening our partnership. Together, we’re building a more inclusive community for everyone 💙

Who says training can't be fun?

Our Values Ambassadors have been busy, and let’s just say this training looked more like a party than a workshop 💃🕺

With disco lights, interactive games and plenty of laughs, the team has been diving into what makes Waverley such a supportive and safe place to work. These sessions are all about bringing our values to life every day.

Our values are STRIVE:
Safety
Trust
Respect
Inclusion
Voice
Empowerment

When we STRIVE together, we create a workplace where everyone feels included, heard and supported to do their best. Big thanks to our Values Ambassadors for bringing the energy and helping make a real difference.

👏 Shoutout to Adam! 👏

Adam has grown so much since joining our Catering team, and we’re incredibly proud of the skills and confidence he’s built along the way.

These days, Adam is busy preparing the yoghurts and fruit salad cups that are sold daily in our canteen and they’re a big hit! From mixed berry, mango and passionfruit, to apple crumble and blueberry yoghurt, plus our fresh fruit salad cups, Adam plays a key role in making sure they’re ready for everyone to enjoy.

Great work, Adam. Your dedication and attention to detail really shine 💙

Growing skills. Growing confidence. 👏

Our Workmates of Waverley have been taking on new training and learning new skills, from safety courses to chemical handling and forklift training.

It hasn’t always been easy, but they gave it a go and should be very proud of what they’ve achieved.

Welcome to our new Workmates of Waverley at Bayswater! 😊

Yesterday we had a special morning tea at our new Bayswater site to say hello and officially welcome our new Workmates of Waverley. It was a great way to celebrate Bayswater becoming part of the Waverley family.

This is an exciting new step for the business. It means more jobs for people with disability and more chances for our workmates to learn new skills and be part of a supportive team.

We’re so happy to have our new Bayswater workmates with us 💙

Two of our amazing Workmates of Waverley, Clinton and Isabelle, recently spoke at a City of Monash Council training session. They shared what it’s like to work at Waverley as people with disability, and they did such a great job.

Isabelle told the group, “What I like about working at Waverley is the diversity. People with hidden disabilities and physical disabilities work together.”
Clinton shared that Waverley feels like his “second home” and that working in packaging and assembly has been a huge achievement for him. He’s excited to keep learning and growing.

Council staff attended the session to learn more about disability and inclusion, and it was wonderful to see their interest and support.

City of Monash has partnered with Waverley for many years, using four of our five services: catering, grounds maintenance, assembly and on-site labour. We’re so grateful for their support and look forward to more collaboration together.
