The next meeting of the Berrima District Sports Awards will take place on Tuesday, 14th April 2026. Nominations are currently being called for Senior and Junior Sportsperson of the Month for January and February. Individuals who have achieved outstanding sporting results during these months are invited to be nominated.
Please submit the nominee's name, age, contact details, and a description of their achievements in the nominated month to [email protected].

Our Senior Monthly winner for February is Cain Reko. Cain is the new Region 4 U20 High Jump regional record holder. Cain secured the record and first place with a jump of 1.62 metres.

Cain had a very successful regional championships, he placed
2nd in U20 200m,
2nd in U20 triple jump.
3rd in U20 long jump
3d in U20 100m. (under the previous record).

Cain has automatically qualified for the NSW Junior Championships for high jump, triple jump and 200m. We wish Cain the best of luck at these Championships and will be cheering him on.

Our Junior monthly winner for February is Richard Jiang. Richard is reaching new heights in athletics. He set a new Region 4 U16 high jump record with an impressive 1.61m, alongside outstanding performances placing 2nd in both long jump (5.97m) and triple jump (12.06m). His results have earned him qualification for the NSW Junior Championships in March—an incredible achievement and a testament to his hard work and talent!

Our January Senior winner is Jack Goulder. Jack is making serious waves in rugby league. Representing the Illawarra Steelers in the Laurie Daley Cup, he’s been in outstanding form—earning Player of the Match honours in January. His performances have seen him move up to the U19s St George Dragons SG Ball Cup squad, a major step in a competition known as a key development pathway for elite players. In 2025 we received nominations across more than 32 sports — from six-year-old beginners to Masters competitors and international representatives.
Our committee meets monthly carefully reviewing nominations of athletes achievements in a particular month. The standard continues to rise each year, with multiple Australian representatives nominated and exceptional international achievements among our Junior and Senior finalists. Few communities can match the depth and breadth of sporting talent we see here in the Wingecarribee.

2025 School Sporting Team of the Year!
Congratulations to the Bowral Public School Cricket team who were Joint State Champions in the PSSA Cricket competition.
This year we received a record 10 team nominations, and the voting was incredibly close, a true reflection of the outstanding talent across our local schools.
