A few photos of our Bush Buddies that we made this week.

World Environment Day, marked annually on June 5, was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. Over the past five decades, the day has grown to be one of the largest global platforms for environmental outreach. Tens of millions of people participate in activities, events and actions around the world.

As Scouts, we are challenged to be respectful, to care for others and the environment. Globally, we are challenged to create a better world.

Our activity tonight is the first part in the Scouts achieving their Special Interest Area (SIA)- Environment badge.

Our Joey's made some paper chain skeletons this evening. Cubs made pancakes outside on a camp cooker and the Scouts cleaned out the vegetable patch and replanted some new treats to harvest at the end of the season.

Mixed Joey's, Cubs and Scouts Archery night. Hosted by our local Girl Guide leaders at Bebrue in Mittagong. Everyone showed so much improvement by the end of the session. A little rain didn't deter anyone and we had a great night.

Photos from the weekend camp at Berrima Scout Camp for a working bee and camping badge camp.
Connor and Buffalo digging the trench and mowing the grass with the tractor.
Sausage sandwiches for lunch.
The tents are all pitched.
Pam (Bimbi) helping the Scouts build a flag pole out of 3 sticks of wood. We successfully used the flag during opening ceremony.
Meanwhile Baloo helped the Cubs build a catapult using square lashings.
While all of this was happening... Wolf was cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Spag Bol for dinner was delicious. Thanks Wolf, Lilly and Savannah for dinner.
On Sunday after breakfast and packing up, a representative from Wingecarribee Shire Council came over with Platypus (Jo) and we made Frog Saunas. A nasty fungus has been wiping out our local frog population. The fungus doesn't survive in warmer climates so by giving the frogs a warm place to hide, it kills the fungus and let's the frogs live.
After lunch the Cubs went geocaching to find the nearest cache. This cache was first hidden by the 1st Moss Vale Scouts in 2006. We found it and added a small handmade paracord keyring.
While we were searching the bush, the Cubs, Wolf, Buffalo and Platypus build some more stairs on the side of the hall. They didn't quite finish it, but it will be done soon.
Thanks to Baloo, Wolf and Buffalo and all the kiddos for a great weekend.
