🚨📣A lonely van today… but tomorrow could be different.

WERN desperately needs volunteer drivers and jockeys to keep our support rolling. If you can spare even one day a week, you will help us collect essential household donations from generous households across Melbourne’s western suburbs. Your day starts and ends at our Ravenhall warehouse. A regular car licence and desire to help is all you need.

💙💛 A huge thank you to the Keilor East Rotary Club Inc. (KERC)💙💛 for allowing WERN to literally shine a brighter light. We recently posted a request for a Test and Tag meter (new or old) so our volunteers could test more donated appliances for safety and compliance. KERC generously stepped in and presented our WERN Warehouse Co-ordinator Sue Selleck and Chairperson Tony Ebejer with the donation of a new meter. Prior to that, Tony was hijacked in the carpark to unload an entire carload of donated doonas - Sally from KERC co-ordinated this wonderful donation through her association with Rotary e-Club of Change Makers and their SHARE Project (Serving Humanity And Re-purposing Equipment). The doonas were sourced from Rotary Club Southern Mitchell - Kilmore Op Shop. Thank you all for a wonderful week of Rotary donations.

🌟 Community and volunteering spirit shining brightly! 🌟
A huge thank you to the Taylors Lakes Lions Club for their generous donation of $250 worth of blankets and throws. All sizes, all colours, and all destined to bring warmth and comfort to many of our client households during the cold winter months ahead.
And a special shout out to our wonderful WERN volunteer Kathy, who is also a proud Lions Club of Taylors Lakes member. Her dedication to both organisations helps make moments like this possible.

⭐ Thank you to the wonderful Rotary Caroline Springs and Phoenix Rovers
for helping with WERN warehouse tasks as part of their annual winter volunteering.⭐

The team unloaded the WERN truck and put away donated furniture including several beds. They sorted through single chairs and stools but unfortunately had to discard damaged pieces. Space was created for a big delivery the next day. Bed sheets in pallet boxes were bagged and repacked. Volunteers cut and tore paper for future crockery pack wrapping, prepared bubble wrap pieces, and two of the Rovers straightened up the linen, doona covers, and other items in the showroom tubs.

A good night was had by all. And this awesome team - full of heart, humour and muscle power, is already planning their next WERN volunteer night in the warmer months. 💙💛

We can’t thank our corporate donors enough. From office chairs to tables and everything in between, every quality item that’s ready for its next journey is truly appreciated.

If your business is revamping or clearing out furniture or household items you no longer need, we’d love to give them a second life and pass them on to families doing it tough. 💛

❤️️♻️ Are Wyndham’s Pop‑Up Recycling & Donation Days getting bigger each quarter? It certainly feels that way.

Our latest collection day on 20 June was another standout success, with volunteers - plus family and friends - from WERN and Wyndham Rotary gathering an incredible haul: 18 TVs, 23 heaters, 3 couches, 12 chairs, 100 bags of linen, 100 boxes of crockery and kitchen items, 50 small electrics, 20 electric fans, and much more.
A huge thank‑you to Wyndham Council for hosting the day and providing a fully fueled truck for our use. And as always, none of this would be possible without our volunteers, who gave up their time to sort, collect, transport and unload two full trucks back at the WERN warehouse.
Because of this community spirit, more clients will be supported in the months ahead. ❤️♻️🚚

Right now, WERN is running low on bedroom linen donations, and your support could help a family settle into a home with comfort and dignity. 💛

• Blankets and quilts
• Pillows and cushions
• Mattress protectors and more
