🚐 We need volunteers ALL THE TIME… but Wednesdays are our toughest day.
We’re desperately seeking drivers and jockeys to help collect the amazing donations coming through because right now, they’re sitting there with no-one to pick them up.
All you need is a regular car licence, some muscle, and a heart for helping.
Your day starts and ends at our Ravenhall warehouse, surrounded by great people doing great things.

🌼Spring + school holidays = the perfect time to declutter!

If you uncover any pre‑loved study essentials, we’d love to pass them on to our school‑aged clients. Think student desks, chairs, rugs, lamps, bookshelves, storage cubes, heaters, fans, bed linens and blankets.

Creating a cosy study space at home can make all the difference!

You can easily donate to WERN via our website's Donations/Volunteer page or email:

🏠♻️Another successful Wyndham Recycling Pop-up Day 💙💛

WERN volunteers and generous Wyndham residents = two truckloads of donated household goods for local families.

Big thanks to Wyndham Council for hosting the day (and the lunch, snacks and fueled truck!). This combatted the mostly grey skies and one big burst of rain - lucky our volunteers could hide inside the truck!

And a shout‑out to Wyndham Rotary Club for unpacking everything back at WERN.

🏡💙💛 From empty shelves to fulfillment

Thursday morning started with a challenge: At 9am, our kitchen appliance shelves were mostly empty. By 11am, a client arrived hoping to choose essential items for their home. What to do?

Volunteer John remembered the generous Community Bank Altona & Laverton annual donation that had arrived earlier in the week. He headed straight to the pallets and unpacked microwaves, kettles, vacuum cleaners, toasters, sandwich makers and rice cookers - all brand new.

Warehouse Co-ordinator Sue stepped in to explain the Bank's donation - the client's gratitude said it all.

A small team effort, a big impact. Thank you

A huge thank you to the Multicultural Seniors Group of Sunshine West - proudly made up of the Maltese Club, the Turkish Club and the Greek Club.

They generously donated two car boot‑loads of items that make up our crockery packs including:
🍽️ 160 dinner plates (another 160 to come!)
🥛 80 drink glasses
🍴 lots of loose cutlery
🥣 assorted kitchen items

This donation didn’t come from a campaign or a call-out – it came through word of mouth. Everyday conversations. One person telling another that WERN exists, that we help, and that donations truly matter.

So please, keep the momentum going. Talk about WERN with your family, friends and neighbours.

A big thank you to Sophia from Sunshine West for donating much-needed household goods and for her kind words and appreciation for WERN’s volunteers – she is pictured here with the WERNie lads John and Graeme on the left and right.

WERN supporter Martin helped with loading the truck and, a piece or two of cake! 💛💙
