Before our Bluey became a film star (aka extra) in ‘Mystery Road’ he took a turn as a news media star for Mandurah State Emergency Service - SES. Now we at Manjimup State Emergency Service - SES get to call him our own Water Bomber Reloading, Transport providing, Photographer, Super Star.
In all seriousness, thank you for 30+ years of voluntary service Brian Bluey.

🌿🪚 Keeping skills sharp and qualifications current!
Our dedicated SES members have been getting hands-on with their chainsaw refresher training, ensuring their skills remain current and their qualifications are maintained.

The session was proudly site managed by the resident kangaroo population, supporting our volunteers as they continue to build the capability and confidence needed to respond safely and effectively when the community needs them most.

A big thank you to our SES members for putting in the time to keep their skills up to date, and to the kangaroos for helping make the project happen. 👏 🦘

As the Duty Officer coordinating our local SES response over the long weekend, I wanted to take a moment to publicly thank the incredible volunteers who stepped up to help our community after the recent storms.

While most in our communities were spending time with family and enjoying the long weekend, our volunteers were out answering call-outs, making damaged properties safe, and lending a helping hand to neighbours who needed it most.

One of the things I love most about living in a small community is seeing people come together when times are tough. When the weather turned wild and woolly, our volunteers didn't hesitate. They answered the phone, put on the orange overalls, and got to work helping others.

I am so grateful for every member of our local SES team. Your willingness to give up your own time to support friends, neighbours and complete strangers is something our community should be incredibly proud of.

To those volunteers that made themselves available, put their hands up, but didn't get a run this time, I appreciate you also.

Thank you for your hard work, your dedication, and the care you show every time you respond. It is a privilege to coordinate such a committed and selfless group of people.

Our towns are a better place because of volunteers like you.

With seriously nasty weather coming this weekend, now is the time to be making sure your property is storm ready. The Bureau of Meteorology is saying this storm is going to be the strongest system we've seen in some time, in terms of wind. So let's not give our trampolines and outdoor furniture any ideas about getting airborne. Tie them down early!

Please heed the warnings, keep an eye on emergency.wa.gov.au for warnings and have your emergency kit ready.
