#624 - World Scout day -

We had 32 finishers today including several visitors from Bunbury, and a PB by our oldest parkrunner of the day, George Kammann!! 👏 proving age is no barrier 💪

At the other end of the age spectrum, our youngest (unofficial) parkrunner-pram-jockey today was Everett Machin, at just 5 weeks old!

Our volunteer roster was filled by eager Manjimup Scouts, as part of their day out in the community celebrating World scout day. For most of them this was their first ever parkrun - let’s see how many come back!

🎉 Kath celebrates 500 parkruns 🎉

What a day for Manjimup parkrun!! Our first parkrunner to reach the 500 milestone 👏 Kath has been coming to Manji parkrun since the very beginning, and holds our course record for the highest age grading percentage.

6 Inch Trail Marathon

Sunday 20th December (so you don’t even have to miss parkrun!!)

48km of the Munda Biddi

Starts north dandalup 4:30am

Cutoff 8hrs (minimum pace 6kph, aka 10min/km)

Finish line Dwellingup

This race is also known as “the Christmas party for runners”; We take it pretty cruisy, usually taking a bit over 7hrs to finish. With plenty of walk breaks, aid station time, and patching-up-Jodie-time (she stacks it at least once every year) 😁🤕

🌿 The Australian movement guidelines are in… and the good news is every move counts! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

The updated Australian 24-hour Movement Guidelines remind us that health isn't just about hitting the gym – it's also about moving more throughout the day, sitting less, and getting enough sleep.

💡 One easy takeaway: Aim for several hours of light physical activity each day. Think walking the dog along Lights Beach, gardening, surfing, swimming, doing Parkrun or parking a little further away at IGA. It all adds up!

So, if you've been looking for a reason to take that extra lap around the office or wander through the garden, consider this your official prescription. 😉🌼

FRIDAY EVENING and still no more volunteers.... Will this Saturday be our first ever cancellation....? 🥺 WEDNESDAY EVENING and not enough volunteers to run the event..... Only Karen (& Toby) and Mark have volunteered to date. This might be YOUR opportunity!

Wanted! Volunteers: a timekeeper for Manji parkrun this Saturday 20/06. Also need volunteer barcode scanner, and a finish token hander-outer. Karen & Toby are tail-walker & tail-wagger respectively.

(Disclosure: Sir Roger Bannister unlikely to be running at King Jarrah this weekend.)
