It's been a busy couple of months for our crews with lots of events, callouts and community engagement activities happening in an around our Shire.....
We say a huge thanks to all clubs that engage with us and support us through sponsorship and donations, along with our volunteers who keep turning up and doing the hard yards at anytime of the day and night.....

Crews have responded to a call for assistance from our friends at NSW Ambulance tonight just before 2100. A massive thanks to our local Murrami farmers for their assistance with a big Green Machine 💚 🟩 👍

We have multiple teams out and about today assisting with sprains, strains and of course the bandaids for day 2 of the Griffith Shaheedi Tournament - Griffith Sikh Games .....

Our other crew are strapped in for a day of grass cutting action out at the picturesque Gogeldrie Riverside Park assisting there with safety duties for the inaugural mower races....

Our team, with assistance from our friends at Wagga Wagga Rescue Squad - VRA Rescue NSW , are on hand providing 1st Aid services at the annual Griffith Shaheedi Tournament - Griffith Sikh Games.
With an expectant crowd of over 25,000 people for the games, we wish all competitors and visitors a wonderful couple of days in Griffith.
Also, a big thanks to our volunteers, once again forgoing a long weekend to assist the community and provide these vital services ......

🚨🚨 Call Out 🚨🚨
MVC - Person's Trapped
0034am - Our rescue crew have responded to reports of a Persons Trapped MVC on Brobenah Hall Rd .
Upon arrival the sole occupant had self extricated and was talking with Police.
Please take care if travelling in the area this morning.

🚨🚨 Week in Review 🚨🚨

Our crew have had a busy 10 days with multiple jobs across the shire and surrounds.....
1) 23/4 - Respond to Gogeldrie Weir after concerns were raised for a fishing boat that failed to return after an overnight trip.... thanks to our friends at Water NSW that already had a boat on the water and located the missing fishos who were both unharmed.

2) 2/5: 2330 - Assist other services with reports of a person fallen into an irrigation channel - no persons found, reported missing or injured

3) 4/5: 0131 - Assist other services, vehicle recovery after becoming bogged on rural property.

4) 4/5: 1646 - Animal Rescue , Assist our friends at NSW SES Griffith Unit with a cow caught in irrigation channel, Nericon - SES and RFS Hanwood Brigade had safely extricated the young steer upon our arrival..

5) 4/5: 1954 - Person's Trapped MVC , Corbie Hill Rd Leeton.....

A busy few days in the lives of our volunteers... thanks to all for your assistance !

We also take a moment to pause and remember our Marine Rescue counterparts that have lost 2 members overnight whilst serving their community at Ballina. Our condolences are conveyed to their families, colleagues and the Ballina community.

Thanks to Leeton Shire Council Out of School Vacation Care for inviting us down along with our friends from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 360 Leeton on Friday to show the kids through the trucks and hand out some handy road safety tips.... The kids all had a go on the e-draulic gear, Fire hoses and of course the lights & sirens to wrap up the end of school holidays!
(Thanks also goes to our volunteers who regularly give up their own time, either in their lunch breaks from paid work or days off to put some smiles on kids faces with these visits!)
A big thanks also to our friends at Beyond Bank Leeton for taking on our colouring in comp from the day, with winners to be judged by their staff this week! Make sure you pop on in and check out the kids handy work!!
