President Sue Pearce had the pleasure of attending the Centre for Volunteering’s 2026 Volunteering NSW State Conference in Griffith on Monday. 😊
This year’s theme, Leadership that Transforms Communities, highlighted key focus areas including:
• Empowerment & Capacity Building
• Innovation & Adaptability
• Inclusive Leadership for Diverse Communities
This hybrid event provided an excellent networking opportunity for regional volunteers 🤝 who were also able to connect with and participate in the Sydney conference via live streaming 💻📡.
A fantastic day of collaboration, learning 📚, and celebrating the vital role volunteers play in strengthening our communities ❤️.

🌟 National Volunteer Week | 18–24 May 2026 🌟
“Your Year to Volunteer”
This week, we proudly celebrate the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy and heart to support our local organisations and communities. 💙
Volunteers are the backbone of our communities — helping services run, supporting those in need, and creating stronger, more connected places to live. Their contribution is not just valuable… it is essential.
From small acts of kindness to ongoing dedication behind the scenes, every volunteer makes a real difference.
👏 To all our amazing Leeton volunteers — thank you.
Your generosity, passion and commitment do not go unnoticed, and our community is better because of you.
Let’s take this week to recognise, appreciate, and celebrate the people who give so much.

***POSTPONED - Date to be advised ***
Getting Along Together is a two-hour workshop that explores the communication styles of your group and puts in place strategies to work better under stress.

Based on the work of Glen Ochre, the Australian author of Getting Our Act Together. Join us at the Leeton Presbyterian Church Hall at 5.00pm on Tuesday 2nd of June, and learn about non-violent communication, the 'drama circle', and other intuitive concepts that will help you to avoid the pitfalls of organisational breakdown.

Jo Roberts is an experienced facilitator and Leeton local with decades of experience in constructive group facilitation and culturally safe community events production. Known for her work at Red Earth Ecology as well as a teacher of Ethics to children and for her 15 years of ecological education and support of the Burning Seed festival, Jo and her partner Jason have raised their children here in Leeton.

Jo is a Leeton Connect board member and is volunteering her time.
All proceeds from ticket sales go towards the operating costs of Leeton Connect, such as IT equipment, consumables, catering, and venue hire.

Click here to register and pay:
https://events.humanitix.com/getting-along-together/tickets

Light refreshments will be provided on the night.

Tickets for Leeton Connect Members are $20, and non-members or businesses will be charged $40 each.

(To qualify for the Leeton Connect Member price, you can pre-pay your 2026-2027 membership fees for $10, for a total cost of $30 - just pick the right option at checkout. Yes, that means you'll get your May+June membership for free!
Please note this is available to individuals representing themselves as a volunteer or a not-for-profit organisation.
Existing members: consider paying your membership dues early and getting 2026+2027 out of the way!)

🌾🌟 A big thank you to our Gold Sponsor CollAg 🌟🌾
🏆What a fantastic Canva Workshop we had! Plenty of tips and tricks were shared to help our community create with confidence. It was an informative night made even better with great food, the perfect venue (thanks Leeton Show Society), and our very own facilitator Nicholas Wright who kept everyone engaged and inspired.
✨💪We’re incredibly grateful to CollAg for sponsoring this event and helping us continue to build digital skills across our local not‑for‑profits and community. Your support makes nights like this possible.
