The Leeton JumpStart Fund is proud to be catering Dust & Diamonds, A 1930s Western Art Deco Journey, a unique Australian Art Deco Festival Leeton event celebrating the stories, music and culture of the 1930s.

💛 Building awareness. Starting conversations. Making a difference. 💛

Recently, we partnered with GambleAware to deliver gambling awareness sessions to local high school students, and the impact has been powerful.

📊 Before the sessions: students rated their knowledge of gambling harm at around 5/10
📊 After the sessions: this increased to 8/10

Even more encouraging, up to 100% of students said they now know where to go for help if they or someone they know is experiencing harm.

Students shared powerful reflections, including:

“It starts small and grows without you realising”
“It affects more people than just yourself”
“You should seek help and not be ashamed”
“There’s light at the end, even when it’s hard”

A huge thank you to Kade for bravely sharing his story, helping young people better understand the real impacts of gambling harm and the importance of seeking support.

This is what community education looks like: honest conversations, increased awareness, and young people feeling more confident to ask for help.
