Kingborough Lions Club Changeover Meeting
The Lions Club of Kingborough recently held its annual Changeover Meeting, celebrating another successful year of service and community involvement. We were honoured to welcome James Redgrave as our special guest for the evening.
During the meeting, 1st Vice District Governor James Redgrave presented awards and appreciation certificates to members in recognition of their outstanding dedication, commitment, and service to both the club and the wider community. These presentations highlighted the valuable contributions made by our members throughout the year and acknowledged the many hours of volunteer work that help make our projects and activities successful.
The evening was also an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past year, celebrate friendships and fellowship, and officially welcome the incoming leadership team for the new Lions year. We extend our sincere thanks to James Redgrave for joining us, presenting the awards, and sharing his support and encouragement.
Congratulations to all award recipients, and thank you to every member who continues to make a positive difference in our community through service. ๐Ÿฆ We Serve

Members of the Kingborough Lions Club enjoyed a wonderful and exciting tour of Ninja Stadium today. The visit was a fantastic experience, allowing members to explore the stadium and learn more about its facilities and cricket operations.
A special thank you to Lion David Badcock, who is also a member of Cricket Australia, for guiding the tour and sharing his knowledge and experience with the group. His insights made the day even more enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Circus Quirkus 2026 ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
After several weeks of ticket selling by our telemarketers it was showtime at the Federation Concert Hall, Hotel Grand Chancellor. There were two Circus Quirkas shows at 10 am & 12 noon. We had 505 guests at the first show & 732 at the second, when even upstairs had to be opened, so we had 1237 guests in all, & by all accounts the guests enjoyed the show.
This project is a winner all round: it is a good money-earner for our club Activities Account & it does not require a huge amount of work from club members & thanks to those who were involved. Then we have the show when many of those attending are from sections of the community that would not normally get to enjoy this entertainment which is fully sponsored . Also, it is to be noted that by us having the show there, employment is created for the telemarketer & the actors & their support staff, plus the concert hall is rented & temp staff are employed as ushers.
Again many thanks to the lions who assisted.

Alan Wilson and Ken Hughes recently attended a presentation at Margate Primary School on behalf of the Lions Club of Kingborough, marking the donation of a set of outdoor chess pieces for the students to enjoy. This initiative reflects our clubโ€™s ongoing commitment to supporting local schools and encouraging activities that promote learning, strategy, and social interaction. Weโ€™re pleased to see the outdoor chess set already being embraced by students, and we thank the Kingborough Chronicle for sharing a few snapshots of this special moment with the community.

The Kingborough Lions Club is pleased to support a wonderful community initiative involving Hudson, a trained Reading Dog, and his handler Niki. Together, they visit local schools to assist children in improving their reading skills. This program has proven to be highly effective, particularly for students who may struggle with confidence or face challenges in literacy.
In recognition of the valuable work they do, our club has made a donation to assist with the ongoing operational costs of the program, which often include many unseen expenses. We are proud to contribute to such a meaningful initiative and look forward to continuing our support for this outstanding program in the future.
