Fantastic to meet with Howrah resident Arish Naresh, who has been selected to lead the Australian delegation of nine outstanding young leaders to Japan in late January for the 2025 Ship for World Youth (SWY) program, a distinguished international youth exchange and leadership initiative, that is the flagship event of the Japanese Cabinet Office.

In its 36th iteration, the SWY program will host participants from 13 countries, each sending 8 Participating and one National Leader. Australia’s delegation comprises a diverse group of nine outstanding young leaders, selected to represent the nation’s vibrant and multifaceted youth from various states and territories.

International Day of Non-Violence is observed on 2 October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. It was established on 15 June 2007 according to United Nations General Assembly resolution A/RES/61/271. The day is an occasion to "disseminate the message of non-violence...through education and public awareness...and reaffirm the desire for a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence"
