Our 5-day Pre-Prep Program supports children in their 4-year-old kindergarten year, including those attending a second year of kindergarten. Led by an experienced team of teachers and educators, we help children build the confidence and skills they need for a successful start to school.

Program highlights:

Several weeks ago we had the absolute honour and privilege of hosting the latest Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange (REAIE) network meeting at DSK. To see a room of over 60 teachers and educators in our space, listening to our journey and joining us for a hands-on workshop, was a very surreal experience!
To our phenomenal teaching team - we can’t thank you enough for the time, effort and wonderful words that made the evening so unforgettable.
To those that came, thank you for taking an interest in what we do. It was a night we will long remember… ⭐️⭐️

🌿 Why Loose Parts Matter 🌿
Loose parts such as stones, shells, sticks, fabric, and recycled materials inspire children to explore, create, and learn through play.
These open-ended materials encourage creativity, problem-solving, independence, communication, and collaboration while supporting fine motor development and a deeper connection with the natural world.
When there is no right or wrong way to play, children discover endless possibilities and become confident, capable learners.

🌟 4 Year Old Pre‑Prep Program 🌟
We’re proud to offer a nurturing and extended Pre‑Prep experience for children who are ready for a longer program, including those funded for a second year of preschool or turning five early in the year. With only 27 places available, our program provides a close‑knit, supportive environment where children thrive.
With one group attending all five days, a strong sense of community forms quickly. Children learn to see each other—and their educators—as valuable resources, celebrating achievements and growing together.
Our play‑based approach is guided by children’s interests, leading to rich projects and meaningful exploration. Led by our wonderful teaching team the program blends child‑directed learning with intentional teaching to create a cohesive, engaging experience.
At the heart of our philosophy is the belief that every child is strong, capable, and competent. We aim to ensure each child leaves our program with a love of learning and the confidence to take on anything 💛
