Rotary Eynbesbury is pleased to offer our Key note speaker this week. Fiona Demark is an adventure-seeking social worker, pole-dancing blind woman, and prospector of unique gifts. She thrives on stepping outside the square, challenging herself and others to think differently. When Fiona's not working, studying, or writing, she's out ‘accessing adventure,’ pushing boundaries, and overcoming fear.

Balance is key—Fiona pursues joy while setting long-term goals yet living in the moment. Being legally blind, Fiona experiences the world through her other senses. She loves the smell of rain and bookstores, the warmth of the sun, the taste of a great meal, and the sound of music (even if my neighbors disagree!).

Her journey hasn’t always been easy, and her disability has sometimes limited opportunities. But whether through resilience or stubbornness, she has embraced it as part of her identity. She is passionate about raising awareness, helping others, and making meaningful connections.

Life’s challenges have given her a powerful toolbox of skills. She believes her experiences equip her to guide others through their own difficult times, and Fiona is always eager to learn how others build success.Fiona is an inspiration , particularly for those with challenges in their lives. Rotary Eynbesbury meets weekly at Ms Peacock's Bar and Restaurant Thuesday evening 6.30pm for 7.00pm meetings and visitors are welcome. Our meetings are free to attend. and conclude by 8.00pm.

Rotary Eynesbury has a very interesting Speaker appearing at this week’s Meeting at Ms Peacock’s Bar and Restaurant commencing 6.30 for 7.00pm start.

Documentary photographer and writer Tim Webster focuses on culture, environment and heritage issues.

He has a degree in physics and mathematics, a diploma in secondary teaching and recently completed a Master’s thesis in architectural heritage and tourism management.

Other illustrated oral history publications include Yangon Echoes: Inside Heritage Homes (2015) and The Social Life of Teak (2023) with co-author Virginia Henderson.

Following the success of our Program's Trial last Term the School has asked we increase our involvement and creat 3 more sessions for their students to participate in. Do you have a spare 30-45 minutes on any of the days we offer Reading to the Eynesbury Primary School Students - Moday through Wednesday 10.00am to 10.30am?

Our Volunteer Readers' Program is looking for extra shifts to cover some of the following days, Mondays, Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays during school terms. Call or text Ross on 0411 228 311 for more details.

Would you like to assist us with our new Volunteer Reading Program in conjunction with Eynesbury Primary School? One, two or three mornings during school terms for 30 minutes is all that's required along with your desire to assist students with their reading. Regular or casual, on call roles can be accommodated.
