School Visit Highlight πŸ‘

It was a pleasure to visit Gawler & District College B–12, where Principal Craig Brown took great pride in sharing a school community built around inclusion, belonging and a genuine commitment to ensuring every student is known, cared for and supported to succeed, a strong culture of student voice, engagement and connection is underpinned by the College values of Respect, Generosity and Excellence. πŸ™Œ

There is also real excitement about the opportunities ahead with the new technical college, expanding pathways for young people through construction and engineering streams. These opportunities will provide students with even greater choice and stronger connections between their learning, further training and future careers. πŸ”¨

Thank you to Gawler & District College B–12 for sharing your vibrant and welcoming school community with us.

School Visit Highlight πŸ™Œ

A wonderful visit to Nuriootpa High School, where student agency was evident everywhere.
Students are not simply participating in their school community, they are actively shaping it: designing and carrying out improvements to the physical environment, podcasting about issues that matter to them, and confidently articulating what they are passionate about, what they are learning and why. πŸ‘

We were also treated to a sensational performance from their concert band and had the opportunity to visit classrooms where learning was engaging, purposeful and connected to students’ interests and futures. πŸ’¬

A great example of a school creating a strong sense of belonging while empowering young people through authentic learning experiences and developing the skills, confidence and agency they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. ✨

Thank you to the students and staff of Nuriootpa High School for such a warm and inspiring visit.

Meet the Emerging Leaders team at Banksia Park International High School πŸ‘

Every great school is powered by the people who work together each day to support their students and community.

In this video, we visit Banksia Park International High School to hear from the people behind the school and explore how collaboration, connection and a shared commitment to students come together in practice.

It’s a great reminder that creating environments where every young person can learn, grow and thrive is a collective effort.

Because great public education doesn’t happen alone, it takes a team. πŸ‘

And thank you to our 3 keynote presenters who provided our attendees with research and thinking to bring back into their own sites and leadership practice.

We look forward to seeing you again in 2027 πŸ™Œ

Kirsty (SASPA, Chief Executive) had the great privilege of spending time in our public schools and seeing exceptional teaching and learning in action.

This week Kirsty visited Norwood International High School, where she experienced a range of inspiring learning opportunities from innovative STEM programs and immersive Italian learning to Connect, the school's co-designed pastoral care program, and SACE learning, preparing students for their futures.

What stood out most was the school's unwavering commitment to empowering every student. It was evident that each young person is recognised as an individual, bringing their own unique strengths, talents, interests and aspirations. Diversity is valued and celebrated.
She was particularly impressed by the students. They were deeply engaged in their learning and spoke with confidence about not only what they were learning, but why it mattered and the understanding they were developing along the way. That level of learner agency is a testament to the quality of teaching and the culture that has been created.

Thank you to the students, staff and leaders at Norwood International High School for your warm welcome and for sharing your work so generously. It was a wonderful reminder of the outstanding learning happening every day in South Australia's public schools.
