Last week, we were proud to support two community events at The Parks Library as part of , celebrating culture, connection, and belonging.

The Welcoming Dinner brought together around 70 community members to share a meal and celebrate cultural diversity, with our team hosting a "Teas of the World" station and connecting with attendees about housing support.

The following day, the Cultural Exhibition provided a powerful opportunity for truth-telling, with community members from refugee backgrounds sharing stories of resilience, cultural identity, and hope.

Thank you to City of Port Adelaide Enfield, Welcoming Australia, Community Access & Services SA, and all partners involved in creating spaces where stories can be shared, heard and celebrated πŸ’š

As part of National Reconciliation Week last week and our commitment to building a more united and respectful nation, Believe Housing Australia and Anglicare SA showcased some First Nations short films through the Nunga Screen program across our different sites 🌿

Alongside a delicious spread of native-inspired snacks and refreshments, employees reflected on what they learned through the film and how these insights shape the way we deliver services within our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in facilitating Nunga Screen sessions across our sites and for creating space for these important conversations and reflections 😊

Our recent tenant pop-up in the South brought tenants together for a relaxed morning tea, giving neighbours the chance to connect, share stories and learn about local services and supports 🏠

It was also great to welcome an Anglicare SA representative from the My Aged Care team, who provided information about aged care programs and services available in the community.

We love having the opportunity to catch up with our tenants at these pop-ups - Thank you to everybody came along to chat 😊

Last week at Reconciliation in the West, we invited community members to share their answer to this simple but important question:

πŸ‘‰ What makes a place feel like home to you?

More than 700 people took part, and the overwhelming response was clear: the people you love are what make a place feel like home 😊

While everyone experiences home differently, the responses highlighted the importance of connection, comfort, belonging, and having a place where you can truly be yourself.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall, shared their thoughts, and had a yarn with our team throughout the day πŸ’š

We had such a blast at Reconciliation in the West yesterday πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

It was wonderful to see the community come together once again to celebrate First Nations culture, connection, and reconciliation through inspiring music, performances, storytelling, activities, and a good yarn.

Thank you to everybody that came and had a yarn with us, learnt more about our services, and celebrated alongside the community.

Together, we continue to strengthen connections, listen, learn, and create a more inclusive future for all.

Yesterday morning, we were proud to attend the 2026 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast hosted by Reconciliation South Australia on Kaurna Yerta at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

As National Reconciliation Week begins, we join with others across the state in reflecting on this year’s theme: β€œAll In” - a reminder that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility.

We really valued hearing from the speakers, experiencing the performances, and celebrating First Nations cultures, voices, and businesses alongside the wider community.

Thank you to Reconciliation South Australia for hosting such a meaningful and impactful event once again.

The community housing sector is playing an increasingly important role in delivering long-term housing solutions across Australia.

Today, Community Housing Providers manage almost 149,000 social and affordable homes nationwide and hold $23.5 billion in aggregated assets.

Working alongside governments and partners, CHPs are helping deliver housing where it is needed most - creating stable homes, stronger communities, and long-term social impact.

As housing demand continues to grow, community housing providers remain trusted partners in delivering affordable housing at scale.

Our Executive General Manager, Housing Services, Stacey Northover, reflects on the growing role of community housing providers and the importance of continued investment to meet Australia’s housing needs.

Today, we acknowledge National Sorry Day and honour the strength, resilience, and courage of Stolen Generations survivors, their families, and communities.

National Sorry Day is a time to reflect on the lasting impacts of the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities, and culture - and to acknowledge that this pain and trauma continues across generations.

Sorry means remembering the past, and committing to a better future.

As we reflect, we also recognise the importance of listening, learning, truth-telling, and continuing the journey toward healing and reconciliation together.
