๐Ÿก Unity Housing appoints new CEO

Weโ€™re pleased to share that Geoff Slack has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unity Housing.

Many tenants and partners will already know Geoff from his time as Interim CEO following the retirement of former CEO Matthew Woodward in July 2026.

Prior to joining Unity Housing, Geoff led YourPlace Housing for five years before its merger with Unity Housing in June 2026.

With more than 20 years of experience across the housing and homelessness sectors, Geoff has worked with organisations across Australia to improve housing outcomes for people and communities.

For tenants, itโ€™s important to know that there are no changes to your tenancy, rent, services or support as a result of this appointment. Our commitment to providing safe, secure and affordable housing remains the same.

Geoff said he was honoured to continue leading the organisation. โ€œI am very grateful for the Boardโ€™s confidence and for the support and encouragement I have received from staff. It is a privilege to lead Unity Housing.โ€

Looking ahead, Geoff said Unity Housing will remain focused on supporting tenants, strengthening communities and planning for the future.

โ€œI look forward to working with our tenants, staff and partners as we continue to provide quality housing and create more opportunities for people to thrive. Together, we will build on Unity Housingโ€™s strong foundations and continue creating positive outcomes for the people and communities we serve.โ€

Please join us in congratulating Geoff on his appointment.

Last week, five tenants from The Terrace Boarding House joined participants from Hutt St Centreโ€™s Aged City Living program for a fishing trip to Murray Bridge. The group enjoyed a relaxing day by the Murray River, catching four decent-sized fish and spotting pelicans, as well as a paddle steamer passing by. It was a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors, enjoy some fishing and share a barbecue lunch together.

What a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared vision ๐Ÿ’š

The beautiful murals, accessible facilities and ongoing improvements at Lions Park are a testament to the generosity, creativity and dedication of local volunteers, artists and community partners.

Unity Housing is proud to be part of this collaborative effort, helping to create inclusive, welcoming spaces where people of all ages can connect, play and thrive.

A huge thank you to artists Jane and Chris who donated their time, the Millicent Lions Club, Wattle Range Council, and everyone involved in bringing this vibrant community asset to life. We can't wait to see the next stages of the park take shape!

Community collaboration was again evident in Millicent last week with local volunteers adding to the recreational facilities now in regular use at the upgraded Lions Park. A toilet block was installed in April and its bland exterior has since been enlivened by the addition of colourful murals. They....

Lions Park is getting plenty of love from the community!

The freshly poured multi-sports court has been a huge hit, with locals already making the most of the space to practise their basketball and netball skills.

While the court won't be painted until spring when the weather improves, kids are getting creative with chalk to draw their own hopscotch lines.

Wattle Range Council have also added an extra piece of playground equipment to create even more play opportunities for families visiting the park.

A big thank you to everyone who helped bring these new additions to life:
๐Ÿ‘ Dan Sharp
๐Ÿ‘ Dave Taylor
๐Ÿ‘ Dave Thorneycroft
๐Ÿ‘ K&B Mitre 10
๐Ÿ‘ Luke McIntyre
๐Ÿ‘ Matt Gibbs
๐Ÿ‘ Quick Mix Concrete
๐Ÿ‘ Shane Westerman

Your hard work, generosity and spirit are greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing the community continue to enjoy these fantastic new facilities ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ›๐ŸŒณโ˜€๏ธ
