Standing Tall in Hamilton Inc. Registered Australian Charity. School-based mentoring program supporting students at 17 primary and secondary schools in the Southern Grampians Shire.

Standing Tall in Hamilton Inc. (STiH) is a local charity and an award-winning, school based mentoring program. It was first developed and implemented in 2003 by Jeanette Pritchard, a teacher at Baimbridge College in Hamilton, Victoria. STiH recruits, screens and trains volunteer mentors from their local Community. These mentors are then matched with young people from our participating primary and

secondary schools. Mentors commit to a minimum relationship of one year. Mentors and their young people spend an hour each week together. One hour a week changes two lives forever! From schools and workplaces to families, individuals and even some very stylish pets, our community came together to swap ordinary socks for something a little more colourful, creative and jolly โ€” all while supporting Standing Tallโ€™s mentoring program. ๐Ÿงฆ๐Ÿพโœจ

Jolly Socks Week was about more than just socks. It was a fun way to start conversations about connection, community and the importance of positive adults in the lives of young people.

Our Term 3 cooking sessions have been looking pretty delicious!

Students and mentors have been getting creative decorating their own little cakes with colourful icing in the Standing Tall colours, fresh fruit and a few sprinkles. ๐ŸŽ‚

Weโ€™ve seen some incredible creations already, with everyone adding their own little touch to their cakes โ€” and, of course, enjoying the best partโ€ฆ eating them! ๐Ÿ˜‹

A big thank you to The Speckled Frog for working with us and preparing the cakes for our mentoring sessions. Weโ€™ve heard so many wonderful comments about how much everyone has enjoyed them!
