Calling all school leavers, dreamers and "what if I dids"! Ever thought about going to Uni, but not sure how to get there?

Deakin Uni has just launched its "Uni-ready" fee-free online course to help each of you prepare for future studies! Gone are the days where an ATAR score was your only option!

The program provides a structured introduction to university expectations and learning, with a focus on:

• Academic writing and communication
• Study and research skills
• Time management
• Digital capability for online learning

It is delivered in a flexible, block-mode format, allowing you to balance participation alongside work or other commitments. On successful completion, you will be able to demonstrate equivalence to Deakin’s minimum entry requirements, including meeting the 50 ATAR and English proficiency. You then apply through the standard admissions process to be considered for selected undergraduate degrees across arts, health, science and business.

Here's what you need to be considered for admission to Deakin Uni Ready:

• Successful completion of Year 10 secondary school studies or equivalent, and a minimum of two years’ work experience; OR completion of unscored VCE
• Be at least 17 years of age
• Must not have an existing university offer and not be eligible for a university offer

UPDATE: The Water is back! Come one come all 😃

Just a heads up all. We’ve had a water leak at our stint hub and have had to turn mains water off! No running water or flushing toilets - so, if you’re coming in, go to the loo first and bring your own water/coffee/drinks! Plumber on site first thing Monday!

We’ve hit a HUGE milestone! All the smiley faces!

Today, we celebrate the registration of our 50th student at our Study Hub. Charlee is embarking on a Certificate II in Horticulture and can't wait to be part of our student community.

For rural and remote learners, having a dedicated Study Hub is a total gamechanger - local support, real connection, and big opportunities to study, network and be part of a community of like minded people.

Cozy Sunday!
Our breakout room now has a range of board games for your study breaks (and competitive streaks!).

The heating is on, the coffee machine is working and, while the rain falls down outside, your Hub is the place to be.

Our Study hub has had a little spruce up! We now have a cozy, relaxed hangout room for chats and catch ups, complete with amazingly comfortable orange beanbag couches, a large study area with more electric sit stand desks, dual screens and three all-in-one computers, and quiet study spaces in the old Board room. Wifi kicks in with the move of a mouse and don’t forget the new whizz bang coffee machine has been installed in the kitchen!

Big thank you to visiting student Ellis for her muscles and determination to help set this up!

Our Study hub is growing and hiring! We are looking for a passionate people person with good organisational skills to join me at the Hamilton Study hub - if you are passionate about our local community and seeing students of all ages thrive, then I'd love to hear from you!

This role would suit a wide range of people - students who do not have a full time study load, people on a gap year, people at the 'other end' who have more freedom and flexibility in work approaches and anyone with the time and passion to see others thrive!

This is one of those opportunities where you can make the role your own - working as a team, let's grow together as our Hub and Community grow!

Yesterday, we celebrated 2 months of supporting students to progress their studies at our study hub. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in this short space of time and love the community we are building.

We already know that our study hub is proving the difference between 'not starting' and genuine learning and career pathway progression with several students reporting that access to reliable internet, dual screens and a safe, secure and quiet study space is a game changer.

As we approach the weekend, our Study Hub remains open - continuing to meet our commitments to being open from 5am to 11:59pm seven days per week!

Our computers are, once again, fully functional, there's a cool beanbag to perch on (with a second one not too far away!) and plenty of screens to plug your own device into.

The kitchen is stocked with tea, coffee & milk, cereal, biscuits and bread and the pinnacle of study food, cup noodles and 'cuppa soups'!
