We are just one big sandpit and those who play together stay together! Meet the Centre Managers / Directors for the Country Universities Centres in Victoria, joined by affiliated body CEO Lou Conway.

At the end of a content rich, community development focussed conference, I have nothing but pride in my heart to be a part of the magic being woven for rural and regional students of all ages and study preferences in Victoria. My colleagues have decades of experience between them and I am blessed to be able to lean into their knowledge, wisdom, door opening capability and their belief in me.

Secondly, with Lou at our helm, I know the 'network of orange' throughout Eastern Australia and Norfolk Island will continue to do so many good things to enhance the lives and communities of people in rural locations. Her energy, activation, idea generation, commercial acumen and sensible holding to account is so welcome and so aligned with the people building community in community and location.

I leave this week's conference with even more directional energy that I arrived with. Watch out!

What a privilege to have visited Wyndham Tech School alongside CUC Central CEO Lou Conway and CUC Bass Coast Centre Director Bourke earlier this week. This pioneering institution is an amazing STEM powerhouse, providing Melbourne's west with a world-class education that's breaking down barriers for Indigenous students and first-generation Australians. I was more than a little speechless (doesn't happen often) to see the impact that Wyndham Tech School is having on the community, empowering young minds to pursue their passions and reach their full potential, aligned to the rapid growth in AI industries and supported industries in the area ( ?). By offering a unique and innovative approach to education, Wyndham Tech School is shaping the future of education and providing a brighter tomorrow for its students (and restoring a little of my faith in the quality of education in this state). I'm so impressed by the dedication and commitment of the small and nimble team at Wyndham Tech School, and I'm excited to see the amazing things the students they welcome will achieve, aligned to strong industry growth in location. Oh, and meet Spot, the robotic dog!!

That's us on the map! (Dot #61, if you're looking 😉).

On Tuesday, Zoe and Holly joined almost 100 Study Hub staff from across Australia in Ballarat for the RUSH Network Symposium - and wow, what a reminder of how big an impact regional and remote study hubs have on community.

Turns out we're part of something huge: 55 Regional and 15 Suburban Study Hubs, supporting over 7,000 students right across the country - from the Kimberley to Kangaroo Island to right here in the Southern Grampians.

For our students, the Hub is more than a desk and free wifi. It's a place to belong. As one student who presented put it - "I have my home, I have my studies, I have my study hub." A place for students who local

That's exactly what we're here for in Hamilton - helping local students study locally, without having to leave the community (and the life) they love or providing them with a place when they return home for a visit.

Big things ahead for Study Hubs nationally, and we're proud to be part of the network making it happen.
