🇦🇺 A Day on the Range with 32 Battalion! 🇦🇺

Cadets and Staff from 314 Army Cadet Unit Warrnambool - Public, 315ACU, 316 Army Cadet Unit - Horsham and Monivae College ACU joined the wider 32BN AAC team at the MTR for their annual range shoot, getting hands-on experience with the EF88 and EF89 ADF service weapons under the supervision of ADF personnel.

Adding to an already exciting day, the ADF School of Armour was also on site with an impressive display that had both Cadets and Staff alike taking a keen interest in the equipment and capabilities on show. It was a fantastic opportunity to see more of the Army and learn about the many career and training opportunities available within the ADF.

A huge thank you to the VICBDE RSM, ADF staff and the School of Armour for facilitating the day and providing our Cadets with these unique opportunities.

🇦🇺 Adventure, Skills, Teamwork & Opportunity! 🇦🇺

What a great opportunity for cadets from 314ACU, 315ACU, 316ACU and Monivae College ACU to visit the School of Artillery at Puckapunyal Military Area (PMA) during ExEmu, while selected teams competed in the Brigade MILSKILL competition.

For our cadets, opportunities like this provide valuable experiences in a military environment, while developing teamwork, leadership, communication, problem-solving and resilience — all while having fun and making new friendships.

These experiences are just some of the benefits of being an Australian Army Cadet: challenging yourself, learning new skills, building confidence and creating memories that last well beyond cadets.

Thank you to the School of Artillery and everyone involved in supporting our cadets and providing these opportunities.

Well done to 315ACU’s Leo McConachy in his successful completion of the Deputy Chief of Army Adventure Training Award for 2026 held this week in Tasmania.

Certificates, ATA patches and the coveted Golden Boomerang pin were presented by the activity’s Chief of Staff, Lieutenant Colonel (AAC) Leaman, alongside Deputy Commander, Colonel Patten-Richens.

This ATA has been described as one of the toughest in recent times — quite possibly ever. Every cadet should be immensely proud of what they have achieved.

The Australian Army Cadets have been invited to send cadets to the United Kingdom for the 2026 International Cadet Exchange.

✅ CADET REQUIREMENTS

• Aged 14–17 years (must not turn 18 before or during travel)
• Minimum 12 months service in the cadet program
• Hold or be able to obtain a passport (valid 6 months after travel)
• Meet UK foreign travel vaccination requirements
• Pass pre-selection fitness testing:
– Beep test 5.5 or higher
– 30m swim in AMCU with runners
– 2 minutes treading water
• Parent / guardian permission to apply

An outstanding young leader making a big impact. As Regimental Sergeant Major of the Monivae College Army Cadets, Seamus leads with maturity and purpose and gives back at every opportunity.

Wayne Nagorcka - Community Recognition Award

Wayne can look back on four decades of service with pride. From policing and firefighting to emergency response, pastoral care, and as an LT(AAC) with 315 Army Cadet Unit, Wayne’s ongoing leadership and commitment to others is nothing short of remarkable.
