We're proud to present our inaugural Award of Recognition to AMWU member Eddie Dowling.

Eddie turned 87 this year and joined the AMWU when he was just 18 – that's a whopping 69 years as an AMWU member ✊ A former boilermaker by trade, he's been proudly standing up for workers and advancing the interests of working class people for many years, and we're proud to recognise his achievements.

Onya Eddie, you make us proud ✊

Local engineering companies rely on, supply, and contract to Bell Bay Aluminium. 250 jobs have already been lost. Any more losses will be devastating for the Metal Trades and Industry in the North.

Hydro Tasmania was established to support industry, jobs and the economy, and it's time that purpose was put to use rather than argued over.

We call on the Tasmanian Government to stop the blame game and act to protect these jobs before more of the North's industrial base is lost for good.
