🌟Volunteer at the 2026 Special Olympics Australia National Games!🌟

Y Geelong is proud to support this fantastic volunteer opportunity shared by Gymnastics Victoria.

The 2026 Special Olympics Australia National Games are coming to Melbourne from 19–23 October, bringing together athletes with intellectual disability and/or autism from across Australia for one of the country's largest inclusive sporting events. 💙

Special Olympics Australia is looking for volunteers to help make this incredible event possible, with opportunities available at the Gymnastics competition at the State Netball & Hockey Centre, Parkville.

Volunteer roles include:
🤸 Assisting with gymnastics competitions
🏅 Supporting medal ceremonies
📊 Scoring and results coordination
📸 Photography, videography and media support
🚐 Transport and logistics
🙌 Welcoming athletes, families and teams

Whether you're a gymnastics enthusiast, official, coach, volunteer or simply passionate about inclusive sport, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference while celebrating 50 years of Special Olympics Australia.

📢 Gymnastics Classes Update

Please note that there will be no gymnastics classes at Newtown Stadium on Saturday 25 July due to the Y Invite competition.

If your athlete was scheduled to complete their Skills Testing on this day, it will be moved to the following week.

We wish all of our athletes competing in the Y Invite the very best of luck and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the gym the following week! 💙🤸

🎉 Our first week of ED Gym is complete! 🎉

What a fantastic way to kick off the term! It was wonderful to welcome so many mini gymnasts into the gym and see everyone having fun, building confidence, learning new skills and making new friends in a supportive environment. 🤸💙

A huge thank you to all of our families and coaches for making the first week such a success. We can't wait to do it all again next week!

❓Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and ensuring every child and young person feels safe, supported, and empowered?
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven WHS & Child Safety Officer to lead and coordinate health, safety, risk, and child safety initiatives across the organisation. This role plays a critical part in protecting the wellbeing of staff, volunteers, contractors, patrons, and children and young people while strengthening a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
