🏇 Happy Geelong Cup Day! While we're aware a number of the local schools have the day off today in lieu of Melbourne Cup, Scouts is still on tonight at Myers Street Hall at the usual time! See you there. 🐺

This week we swapped the hall for Johnstone Park and put the compass to work. 🧭 Cubs and Scouts navigated between landmarks using bearings and pace counts, with the buddy system - literally tying our patrols together - keeping everyone accountable along the way! 🪢

Term 4 is underway! After a massive Term 3 capped off by Cuboree, we were back at the hall tonight and ready to go again! This term we're planning to get outside as much as possible, with a focus on outdoor adventure skills, making the most of the warmer weather and daylight savings! Here’s hoping the spring sunshine sticks around for us!

That's a wrap on Cuboree 2026! Our Cubs are home safe after one of the biggest weeks on the Scouting calendar - five days at Gilwell Park alongside more than 3,500 Cubs, leaders, support staff and parents who made the whole thing happen. An enormous effort from everyone involved.

We're back at Myers Street Hall this Wednesday 7 October for the start of Term 4. Clocks go forward on Sunday for daylight saving, and we're planning to make the most of the extra light this term - getting outside more and making the most of what spring has to offer. This week though, it's back to the hall (to start with at least - we'll see what the weather brings!)

We heard it's been wet in Geelong today so we wanted to assure you that we didn’t miss out as Gembrook saved it for us this afternoon! Cubs were absolutely legendary about it though, and a round of hot milo and soup did the rest. 🌧️

The afternoon also brought badge trading, card games and a great chance to chill and catch up with heaps of new friends. ☕️

As it’s our last night in camp tonight, we'll start packing what we can and negotiate with the mud for the rest in the morning. This time tomorrow everyone should be home, dry, and very much ready for an early night! 💤

Cub Scouts are having a ball at Cuboree! While the weather is quite rainy, our motto of "Be Prepared" means we are coping well with the conditions. Cuboree continues as usual; our Cubs have shown that with a positive attitude, a bit of teamwork and the right gear, even challenging weather can become part of the adventure.

We've been asked to keep a FEW of the secrets of Cuboree under wraps so Cubs can tell parents all about it themselves when they get home! 🤫 But needless to say there was a big Day 3 and things got very dirty in the … jungle? 🌴

Tonight we wound down with Cubs Got Talent which had a fantastic set of acts from across the state (ask your Cubs which was their favourite), a lot of noise, and a well-earned early night. Tomorrow is our last full day and the agenda is packed! ⛺️

Day 2 at Cuboree 2026 and our morning was spent with the vertical team — rock climbing and crate tower stacking, both on harness. Plenty of heights conquered to kick off our day! 🧗

Then a very well-received hot dog lunch before the afternoon went natural: a reptile show, making slushies powered by a bike, and learning how to make beeswax wraps as a plastic-free alternative to clingwrap. ♻️

To close the night, the Trash Test Dummies put on a show that had the whole camp going. 🎭 We’re about to hit lights out to recharge those body batteries because Day 3 isn't going to run on good vibes alone!
