What a fantastic way to kick off our 2026–27 Electric Homes Program!

More than 70 people joined us last week to learn about making the switch to efficient, all-electric homes, connect with trusted local suppliers and explore ways to make their homes more comfortable, healthier and cheaper to run.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and brought such great energy to the evening!

We’re grateful to the City of Greater Geelong, our major partner, and to our premium partners Winki Solar, Too Hot to Handle, Enviroflex and Barwon Water for sharing their expertise.

With the State Election fast approaching, our communities are hearing mixed messages and misinformation about gas, electrification and climate change.

We’re excited to partner with Environment Victoria and ACF Geelong for a special Effective Conversations training for volunteers, supporters and community members. This interactive workshop will introduce practical tools to navigate misinformation, encourage critical thinking and have meaningful conversations about climate, gas and electrification.

No technical expertise required, just a willingness to learn, connect and build your confidence.

Here’s a little look at us celebrating our Vopak advocacy and getting ready for the next big opportunity to make a difference: The Victorian state election.

We’re building community support for strong climate action, renewable energy and electrification policies that help create a healthier, more affordable and sustainable future for everyone.

And we’d love you to be part of it!
-Host a campaign sign

-Share information about how moving away from gas can help households save on energy bills
-Get involved in other state election volunteering opportunities

Every conversation, sign and helping hand makes a difference. Together, we can show decision-makers that our community wants a cleaner, fairer energy future.

It was a pleasure for our Board Chair, Neil Plummer, to speak at the Geelong Nepalese Association’s fundraising dinner supporting communities affected by the devastating floods in Nepal.

What a wonderful initiative bringing people together through food, music and culture, while raising much-needed support for families and communities facing loss and rebuilding their lives.

Thank you to the Geelong Nepalese Association and Lara Sporting Club for creating such a meaningful evening of community, connection and solidarity.

We’re proud to stand alongside our local community and support initiatives that bring people together to make a difference.

Have your say until 30 September!

We have just provided feedback on the City's Urban Forest Strategy.

"Geelong Sustainability commends the City on their ambitious Urban Forest Strategy. Greening cities is an integral part of climate adaptation, particularly when delivered alongside other climate adaptation strategies like energy resilience, which Geelong Sustainability’s City-funded programs address. The Strategy and our programs support public health, climate adaptation and community wellbeing, and are vital to the City’s future.

This excellent vision requires funding to deliver its outlined impact. We recommend that the City establish an Urban Forest Fund to support the Strategy’s implementation. The City of Melbourne has pioneered this Fund model, which supports “a range of initiatives, including new green open spaces, tree planting, biodiversity projects, green roofs and vertical greening, and water sensitive urban design projects.” Over 10 years of operation, their Fund has delivered $3.2 million in funding."
