🐱 Our gorgeous rescue dogs and delightful cats are waiting to meet you! Come and discover their personalities, learn about the adoption process, or find out how you can become part of our wonderful volunteer team.

💕 ‘Paws 4 an Hour’ is our only regular public opening, so it’s the perfect opportunity to come and meet our four-legged friends without a prearranged meet and greet. 🤗

📣🌭 SWEET PEA IS FIRING UP THE BBQ AT BUNNINGS FORSTER! 🐾❤️

What’s on the menu this Sunday? Delicious sausage sandwiches, friendly faces and the chance to make a real difference to animals in need! 🐶🐱💕

🌭 Our fantastic volunteers will be ready to serve you a tasty sausage sizzle, with a refreshing drink to wash it down. Breakfast sorted — and all for a wonderful cause!

🐾 Every sausage sandwich sold helps Sweet Pea Animal Rescue care for our beautiful rescue animals. Your support contributes to essential veterinary treatment, vaccinations, food, medical supplies and the everyday care our animals need while they wait for loving forever homes. ❤️

And there’s more than just a BBQ! Come and say hello, have a chat with our lovely volunteers, learn about our work and discover how you can help make a difference.

🐾 Milo’s journey to a healthier, happier life 💙

Our beautiful rescue Frenchie Milo will be undergoing BOAS surgery this Friday.

When Milo first arrived at Sweet Pea, we were unaware that he would need this surgery. However, as we’ve cared for him and watched him closely, it has become clear that surgery is essential to improve his breathing and, ultimately, his quality of life.

BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) is unfortunately common in French Bulldogs and other flat-faced breeds. Their shortened skull shape can mean that the structures inside their airways are crowded, making it difficult for them to breathe normally. The photo accompanying this post shows the difference between a healthier airway and the airway structure commonly seen in affected French Bulldogs.

For Milo, this surgery is about giving him the opportunity to breathe more comfortably, exercise more easily and enjoy the kind of life every dog deserves. ❤️

🖤🧡🤍 WELCOME OUR NEWEST SWEET PEA SUPERSTARS!🤍🧡🖤
✨Two beautiful Calico Mamas… eleven tiny kittens… and a whole lot of magic ✨

Tonight - while the Knights and Roosters battle it out - we’re celebrating a MUCH CUTER GRAND FINAL right here at Sweet Pea… because we have TWO BRAND NEW KITTY FAMILIES joining us from Griffith Pound! 😺🏉💛

🌼 MEET OUR GORGEOUS MAMAS
💛 Gelato - medium‑haired Calico queen, sweet as her name.
She gave birth in the pound on 17 September, bringing six perfect babies into the world:
🐾 Five ginger boys
🐾 One black‑and‑white girl

💛 Bobbi - short‑haired Calico bobtail beauty.
She arrived at the pound with her litter, and unbelievably… her babies look almost exactly the same age as Gelato’s!
Bobbi has five adorable kittens:
🐾 Ginger
🐾 Tortie
🐾 Calico
🐾 Two black‑and‑whites
✨ And all but one are bobtails, just like their mama!

Though they came from the same pound, these two families are totally unrelated - just two brave mums doing their best for their babies. 💛🐾

😺✨ A Whole Lot of Love Ahead…
It will be A FEW WEEKS before any of these precious souls are ready for adoption, but oh my goodness… you’re going to fall in love with every single one of them.

For now, please help us give them the warmest Sweet Pea welcome - they deserve all the love in the world. 💛

🩷🐾 WELCOME GRACIE & CHARLIE 🐾🩷

Please join us in welcoming our two newest little family members - Gracie and Charlie! These two absolutely adorable girls came into our care through very reluctant and emotional owner surrenders. Their families love them deeply, but heartbreaking circumstances have forced their hand 🥺.

✨ Gracie is an 8‑year‑old King Charles Cavalier. Originally used for breeding, she has spent the last five years living a peaceful, loving life with her mature mum. She is calm, gentle, sweet, wonderful with children, great with other doggies, and truly impossible not to fall head over heels in love with. She’s the kind of girl who melts into your heart the moment you look into her eyes 😌.

✨ Charlie is a 3‑year‑old Toy Poodle who has lived her whole pampered life with a mature couple. She’s outgoing, lightweight, super happy, beach‑loving, walk‑loving, dog‑loving, affection‑loving - honestly, she’s just a tiny bundle of joy 🥰.

Both girls would suit almost any home.
💗 Gracie may prefer a quieter, gentler household.
💗 Charlie would thrive in a young, active family home.

They are both fully up to date with all veterinary care, a testament to the beautiful homes they’ve come from - and they are ready and waiting for their forever families💖.

About 4 years.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO JOIN THE S.P.A.R TEAM?
I love all animals, especially dogs. I wanted to join a community that provided care, love & assistance to rescue dogs. S.P.A.R is that community, they go above & beyond in all areas.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT IT AND WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS?
I love sharing the journey with the dogs from when first arrive to going to their forever homes. It just fills me with so much joy. I would highly recommend volunteering to everyone.

WHO IS YOUR CURRENT FAVOURITE RESCUE AND WHY?
Stevie is my favourite. Yes, he is a big guy but he is just so chill! He is so lovely to spend time with, he loves cuddles and play time. I love taking Stevie for a walk, he is so relaxed and stays by my side. Stevie is a very special dog and would make great companion/ family member.

💛🌈🐾 Stormy Matilda’s Journey Begins… 🐾🌈💛

This precious girl arrived in the world of rescue after needing urgent veterinary care - tiny, unwell, and fighting hard. Thanks to the incredible compassion of the vet and nurses who cared for her (and inspired her beautiful name), Stormy Matilda is now safe, healing, and discovering joy. ✨

At around 10 weeks old, she’s blossoming into a bright, affectionate pup who loves gentle hands, soft voices, her sweet little roommate Topsy, and exploring her surroundings with wide‑eyed wonder. She’s growing quickly and showing us every day just how resilient she is. 🌱💕

Stormy isn’t quite ready for adoption yet, but she’s getting stronger and more confident by the day.
