It’s still not the best weather for your fishing trip over the next two days. Maybe line up a tv movie or show about reeling in the big 🐟, or catch up on a bit of mechanical 🚤 tinkering instead.

Even MRFT’s tiniest vessel FO0.00001 wasn’t impressed with today’s cranky ocean. If this is how the swell treats the little ones, boaties, imagine your vessel - check the forecast, plan ahead, and stay safe out there.

If you do head out on the lake (forget the ocean for a bit 😉), LOG ON with Marine Rescue! 🎤 Radio VHF Ch16 📞 55561600 📱 Marine Rescue App : simple’s!

MRFT Training Update - Crew Trains in All Weathers

Monday morning and our crew recruits were out again proving they’ll train in any conditions. With the swell too rough to chase a ‘dummy’ outside, the focus was Man Overboard drills.

The run out tide in the outer harbour was too fast to safely retrieve our mannequin, Miss Ruthie - so she took a swim in the boat harbour instead, giving trainees a realistic challenge in controlled conditions with extra 🐬 help

Training continued with marine emergency drills, including a simulated ‘abandon ship’ scenario caused by fire and smoke in the engine bay.

Solid teamwork, quick responses, and great learning all round. Kept our Radio Operator trainee busy too !

Volunteers training ….. to save lives on the water 🛥️🛥️
