We attended The Barrington Coast Women in Business event last night at Si Senorita... and we were blown away by the professional women in our Community.

As members of the Forster Tuncurry Business Chamber we want to congratulate co-founders Lauren Calvert and Jodie Laraghy for there vision and inspiration to create something so collaborative and supportive for professional women in the region.

This is why we do it. 💙

Mums, dads, nans and pops. Babies in prams, teens in hoodies, and a fairy or two. Business owners, families, mates, and a very enthusiastic gentleman who tried to eat a cardboard ice cream. Honestly, you all showed up, and we love you for it. 🍦

Spring Festival Forster was free for the community. Even with a wet start, around 3000 of you came down to Wharf Street once the sun came out. About a quarter of you travelled in from out of town, so a big hello (and thank you) to everyone who made the trip and spent your day, and your dollars, in our shops and cafes.

That’s what the Forster Tuncurry Business Chamber is about. We don’t run this for the stalls or the stage, and not even for the seagull cutout, as popular as he was. We do it for the connection: neighbours bumping into neighbours, kids dancing in the street, and local businesses getting a reason to say “hey, come in.”

To every stallholder, volunteer, community partner, performer and business that donated a prize: you made this happen. To everyone who stopped for a photo, a wander, a raffle ticket or an ice cream: thank you for being the reason we do this.
