At Monday night’s meeting we celebrated Jean Hailes health week with a delicious dinner and a very informative presentation.

Schweta who works at GenWest in Footscray spoke to us about how the organisation promotes gender equality by working proactively and reactively to educate girls and women about achieving gender quality , health education and family violence.

CWA Footscray looks forward to continuing to support Gen West with their various programs.

🚨 SOS: We urgently need tampons 🚨

Our charity partners have requested over 80,000 tampons - with just days left of August Dignity Drive, we’ve only collected 21% percent.

That gap represents thousands of people who may be going without one of the most essential items to manage their period safely and with dignity.

We recently heard this story from Maria:

“When I was a young single mother I used to leave my tampons in until I leaked and would also fold layers of toilet paper when out in public to make it last even longer.”

No one should have to manage their period like this.

If you’re heading to Woolworths Supermarkets this weekend, please consider picking up an extra box of tampons and dropping them into one of our pink collection boxes 🩷

Every single box helps restore dignity, comfort and confidence for someone doing it tough.
