Eltham Diwali

Thank you Eltham Community for such a wonderful response for the Eltham Diwali event. It was so good to see the community come together to celebrate Diwali.

Here are some statistics that we could collect for the evening -

🪔 Over 200+ in attendance
🪔 37% came to know about the event through word of mouth
🪔 150 Samosa, 150 Pakoras, 200 Kathi rolls, 200 Gulab Jamuns, 150 Kachoris and few cups of teas went in tummies 😀
🪔 40+ songs played by the DJ Trancempire and so many different dance moves witnessed on these songs
🪔 Close to 50 hands were decorated by Shre’s Henna Designs
🪔 10+ Performers presented spectacular dances.
🪔 10 Kinders participated in Jar decorations
🪔 15+ volunteers helped out to bring the event together
🪔 Thousands of smiling and heart warming moments witnessed

The Eltham Town square was beaming with beautiful decorations and lights, music and dances, laughter and chatter.

Can't wait to do this again next year!!

Here are the duo dancer sisters, Archita and Annadha Sivakumar from Natyalayaa Dance School, who will be presenting a spectacular Bharatanatyam performance at the Eltham Diwali this Saturday 11th October from 5pm onwards.

Have a sneak peek at one of their performances and be ready to be amazed by such a beautiful form of dance art.

Annadha began her journey in dance at the tender age of 6 in the US before moving to Melbourne, where she continues learning to dance under Smt. Ushanthini Sripathmanathan. Recently having completed her arrangetram this year in July, she is excited to perform alongside her sister, Archita in a piece they both have choreographed together. Additionally, she will also be performing a solo item.

Archita began her dance journey at the age of 7 under the guidance of Guru Ushanthini Sripathmanathan. She then moved to the US and completed her arangetram under Guru Vinitha Subramanian in Austin, Texas. After moving back to Melbourne, she continued learning under Smt. Ushanthini Sripathmanathan, further refining her flair for this beautiful artform.

Come and witness a magnificent Bharatnatyam dancer Neha Ravishankar from Natyalayaa Dance School performing at the Eltham Diwali this year.

Neha was born in Scotland, United Kingdom, and began her journey in dance at the tender age of three. She is being trained under Smt. Ushantini Sripathmanathan, whose dedication to the art form deeply influenced Neha’s own passion to dance. Her early years of training laid the foundation for her solo stage debut at the age of five, performing in the presence of a large audience.Her graceful expressions, especially her abhinaya (expressive dance), bring a unique charm to her performances, making her a joy to watch.

Thank you Natyalayaa Dance School for performance the Traditional Indian Classical Dance - Bharatnatyam at Eltham Diwali each year. We are grateful once again this year to have some excellent dancers coming from this Dance school to perform at the Eltham Diwali 2025.
