Positive Aid

Positive Aid HIV/AIDS, poverty and a lack of education impact the most vulnerable communities.

Positive Aid empowers the most marginalised people in rural Kenya, by providing care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, maternal and child support and health education. Positive Aid is an Australian Non-Government Organisation (NGO) focused on health and community development. Linking international best practices with indigenous knowledge and systems, we work together with communities to achieve sustaina

ble and positive outcomes to problems such as HIV and AIDS. We respect the right and privilege of communities to enjoy and control their own development, and engage in initiatives that build capacity.

We reach hundreds of women every month through our pregnancy clubs. Based in remote health facilities, these meetings bring women together to teach and empower them to thrive in pregnancy and birth.

We help them with safe birthing supplies, and visit them together with their babies at home or in hospital, with some small gifts that make a big difference.

Thanks to Coni and her team on the ground in Kenya for all of the care they give to women when it counts most.

Positive Aid is thrilled to announce that we have extended our partnership with the fabulous NGO Days for Girls Australia. With a shared vision of dignity for women and girls, we have been working together since 2022 to bring washable menstrual health kits to every new mother in our project.

We focus on reaching women directly after birthing, to give them confidence and safety as they navigate the first days with their infants. This part of our project has become a corner stone of our Maternal, Newborn and Child Health program and we look forward to working with Days for Girls over the coming two years.

New 'Buffalo' bikes arrive for our freshly trained community health volunteers. Kitted out with uniforms, medical bags and transport, our volunteers are ready for the field. Their main roles will be to visit sick people in their villages, offer support and first aid, and link them to HIV testing and treatment services.

Super proud to have these people on board and wishing them the best on the front line.
